Match Thread - Aldershot Away 14:40 - Dec 15 with 13969 views | ChaffRAFC | Dale team: Josh Lillis Matty Pearson Phil Edwards Reece Bennett Kevin McIntyre Peter Cavanagh (c) Jason Kennedy Andrew Tutte George Donnelly Ashley Grimes Dele Adebola Subs: Ben Smith Joe Rafferty Ryan Edwards Brian Barry-Murphy Raymond Van Putterill Ian Craney Joel Logan Surprised to see Edwards dropped, not in the least bit surprised to see Raff dropped. I've not seen it mentioned among all the Coleman bashing but I presume Grant is either injured or suspended along with Gornell? [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Match Thread - Aldershot Away on 16:11 - Dec 15 by SalwaDale | Or is it because he has been one of the centre backs during our lets concede loads spell? Glad we've left Cavanagh on as he protects the back four so very well, along with the wingers who help out the fullbacks behind them. |
That point about Cavanagh in that role and the tactics is a good one - when he was part of a normal midfield two with to wide players we conceded one goal (a penalty) v Bristol Rovers.

I agree. I have a season ticket but I'm 75% not going, just because I'd rather sit and look out of my window.

Shouldn't have sacked Eyre. Coleman is a Graham Barrow type of manager, safe pair of hands, steady-as-she-goes, without the excitement! There really isn't anywhere to go now without any money.

I do sometimes wonder where we'd be if we'd stuck with Eyre.

Stuck with him despite there being problems off the pitch, the defence being all over the place, poor displays at home, a lot of fans having lost faith? Familiar? Anyway comeback is on now, and this thread is the tuning point ending in the title in May. Possibly.

We'll never know what would have happened if the board had stuck by Eyre but to simply state he shouldn't have been sacked without any evidence he may have come good is no argument. IF he eventually makes a name for himself, your faith in his ability may be rewarded. Doesn't mean he'd have done any better with Dale given more time.
