Was Sparky given enough time? 14:09 - Nov 23 with 3248 viewsJim

He got us out of it last year and has a habit of starting seasons poorly. Foolham won two matches before Christmas in his first year in charge and were in the bottom three - they finished eighth.

Now we have to pay him and his entourage the best part of £10 million, while 'onest 'arry washes up with his new entourage licking their lips.

I just fear this was a bit of a knee jerk reaction after 'onest 'arry's clever manipulation of the media the past couple of weeks.

Also, there appears to be a feeling that after Man U our next three games are 'easy'. I don't think so.

Yes!
Seeing him speechless after So'ton game summed it up for me. Same on podcast, Hughes & team think they are doing everything right when quite clearly they're not.
Shocking spell and can't see him in another decent gig in a while.

Personally i'd have got shot of him in the summer as his actions during the season were a real worry. He just looked then as he has recently like a man out of his depth.
I will be amazed if he ever successfully manages another Premier league side.
He's shot.

I've never shown any interest in Fulham FC but this Mark Hughes debate has made me struggle with my memory, so excuse any errors, but how wrong is this?
Mark Hughes replaced Roy Hodgson who had transformed the side before becoming England Manager in the Close Season. Wroy left the club with a finishing position of 6/7 or 8th after an entertaining and brave run against European giants.
Mark Hughes took over and made very few changes, might of signed Steve Sidwell, played a less entertaining brand of Football, pissed off a few fans, 'cos that's all there are and left Fulham in 6/7/8th position.
Joined QPR changed everything 'cos it just wasn't good enough and left QPR three places lower about a year later.....that's all the time Mark Hughes needs to bring his magic to the table....so i guess the answer is anything from a day or until he bores you....usually a year.

The bloke is a Kunt end of
I really hope to god in 15 years time we don't look back and think
He took us to the blink of oblivion !!
He was never interested in us as club, just the dough
He had more than enough time & money
But his Billy big bollocks attitude is his downfall.
It's now down to us to raise the roof against villa and get our rangers back

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

What made me laugh was some of his ex teammate at OT yesterday (For Ferguson statue thingy) being interviewed all saying Hughes should have got more time, it was laughable, I mean what did Sky Sports expect them to say, every one virtually parrotted the same thing, and the reporter just standing their like a awestruck fan.
Can't magine any of those interviewed accepting that kind of mess when they were players.
Bryan Robson, Denis Irwin, Peter Schmeical and Andy Cole I think all interviewed.
As for the OPs question, how much more time would you like him to have had, till we'd actually been relegated before January was outr? What signs were there he'd improve things when performances have got worse by the month not better.
He had too much time .
A part of me felt he ought to have gone after he'd kept us up to be honest but I hoped against hope until the Stoke game when I decided enough was enough, by the end of Soton I felt he should have gone 2 seconds after final whistle frankly.

Never was there a manager about whom so many of the Mancunian mafia had a stake in not telling the obvious truth.

I really think this is a ridiculous post that doesn't deserve an answer except that given by the board. Hughes has taken our club for millions and been diabollically useless as a manager, buyer of players, tactician, team selector and motivator and you want to give him more time to ruin QPR. Do me a favour!

Interesting to see Sparky's ex Man U colleagues all saying he should have been given more time & that he is a good manager. In what is a show of support & solidarity in the Man U way. However when asked on BBC Football Focus by Dan Walker who Fergie's eventually successor should be Peter Scmichael didn't mention Mark Hughes. Wonder how many of them would want to see him take over, would the theatre of dreams ambition match Hughes? I would love to see him give it a go...?
