QPR in the Trenches XI 13:47 - Nov 22 with 3310 viewsToast_R

The prospect of MH going all Schwarzenegger on Saturday and selecting a team of brawn and guts over brains has got me thinking, the best QPR XI who when push come to shove, you’d want to be in the trenches with as they’d run through walls with a big heart for the cause.

Here's my take on who I've seen pull on the shirt.

Kenny (He’s so stupid he’d do it anyway)
Hill (Honest pro)
Parker (The best full back we’ve ever had, massive heart)
McDonald (Captain)
Shittu (Animal)

Bircham (Passionate about the club)
Holloway (Honest Pro with morals)
Ainsworth (Massive heart, will do anything for team)
Derry (Honest Pro, loves it)

Ferdinand (Strong, confident, scares the opposition)
Gallen (Passionate about the club)

What was big bad Bob cleared of?

I think that plod found some petrol bombs in the boot of his car during the Birmingham riots of the time, or something like that anyway. We sang a song about it I think.

Mark Dennis if he stayed on the pitch.

"Stan work hard, could score goals in the air, and was complete team player. He headed balls off the line, and he had so much skill, balance, finesse and amazing touch. His mobility, that electrifying burst of 30 yards was exciting to watch"...Don Shanks.

Dennis was actually a very good player, when he was on the pitch.

Isn't it hard to play football in trenches?

Ferdinand would still lose his man.

Not really "hard men" but for honest bloody hard work and a fair amount of skill I give you:

Mick Leach
Gary Bannister

Waddock already mentioned but definitely up there.

Andy Sinton would also just get up after being kicked and carry on, time and again.

In an actual fight, Alan McDonald, Stevie Wicks, Dave Webb, and Mark Dennis with Gavin Maguire first off the bench

Siphoning petrol during the 1981 riots. The police said it was for petrol bombs, Bob said he needed a start.

Sorry, didn't see that above. Internet is a bit fuzzy, it seems his brother got five years. Leicester fans only seem to remember him for a petrol bomb song.

Actually, at risk of being serious, but I suppose Evelyn Lintott would have to be first on the team sheet.
