Got to admire his honesty.

Love to know who the 'deluded fan' was.

Clearly issues with performance of some of the players that need resolving quickly.

I think most fans only noticed it when it was all but over. I think it was after the 4th goal, a fan left the terrace behind the goal and walked over to the dugout to remonstrate with the manager. It looked to be a case of giving him a piece of his mind rather than anything physical. It appeared like Coleman just stood there and took it rather than becoming involved in the row. The stewards then took this guy away and presumably threw him out.

I know it was mentioned on here yesterday but there does seem to be something about Torquay where emotions boil over. Perhaps given the distance involved, there's a feeling of being owed more than the abject showing that seems to accompany any away trips to Plainmoor.

What did the fan do/say?

first off he appologised to "the fan" , he went on to say that we played poorly and that he hopes we dont get too many more performances like that for the rest of the season, he goes on to say it would be easy to hide behind a couple of bad decisions by the ref, but he wont do that , he says we (the team & management ) have to take it on the chin or in Coley's case CHINS

again I have to say that it is a very truthful interview , he is so passionate about this club , I just know we will do well this season,

Just heard the interview. It is one of the most honest interviews Ive heard a manager make at our club.

The comments about the handball are very strange unless Ive took them the wrong way. Coleman is basically saying that the ref saw the handball for the second goal, yet allowed it because it was accidental.

Thats what Coley said to us and having watched it back, tend to agree it shouldn't have been allowed. It doesn't show on highlights but R Edwards was pushed in the build up to the 4th goal too. I also dont know how Howe wasn't booked and subsequently sent off for the late challenge on P Edwards. Think the only reason was it happened 3 minutes after the penalty. All that said, the performance wasn't good enough and the players know that; their faces after the game said everything.

I think you're right. The ref was conscious he'd just sent someone off and didnt want to make it two. Ling taking Howe off immediately suggested concern on their part.

he can only work with what he has...we are well off a top 6 or 7 side ...we dont have the quality of a Dawson,Buckley or Ogrady in this side but id be happy for us to come in the top half after 46 games

Very hard to comment on a game I haven't seen, but the result is naturally very disappointing. Shipping four goals, when the defence had looked sorted when I last saw it, is the most alarming aspect.

At the other end, once again our forwards fail to net and it's that man Tutte we're looking to for the goals again. Puterill seems to offer a threat when he comes on too, so surely he starts against Barnet now?

Two points from nine is certainly not a good return, but we are only three games in. However, it would be prudent of JC to at least utilise the loan market before the transfer window shuts, if for no other reason than to provide extra cover for certain areas on the pitch.

Hopefully we're more 'up for it' on Saturday.

Let's hope the fine words can be backed up with actions on the pitch. Words are one thing, it's wins that make a difference.

i'd rather have tutte in my squad than buckley anyday, maybe even o'grady although we do need a decent striker at the moment. but tutte is class and we won't hold on to him for long

Well said that man, it is something like 9 league games since we had a win I believe which is very worrying, We really need to turn it around on Saturday but this could be difficult with less than 2000 in the ground.

Six games.

However, results are now more important than performances for the next two weeks.

The month of September is an ideal test of our credentials.

If we're serious play-off contenders, as JC suggests, there are only two league games we shouldn't be disappointed to lose next month - those being the away trips to Rotherham and Gillingham.

The rest, you have to say, should be yielding points - three more often than not.

He can only work with what he's got, which are the players he's signed.

Just like Hill worked with Buckley, O'Grady, and Dawson... which were the players that he'd signed.

Personally, I haven't at any point seen us as potential play-off candidates yet. I'd be quite happy with a top-half finish to be honest.

Tangled up in blue.

As would I. Comparing to Hill, he took a few seasons of improvement. Top half would do for me and then improve next year but I still have very little idea of how good we actually are/aren't.
