More chance he would have started with Zamora and Yakubu up front seeings as they were his 2 main targets.

Cisse and Zamora looks also good and who knows he could landed Zamora and Yakubu. At that time it looks more like as nobody would come. Why he took Macheda? But who knows.

No idea why he took Macheda but even less idea why Hughes keeps him.

The Hughes revolution on 23:25 - Mar 10 by WestonsuperR | 'It's Warnocks team' so if Hughes had a been a success all credit would have stayed with Warnock as it was his team? 'SWP and Barton both Warnocks buys' Hughes keeps playing them, he's the Manager and he doesn't have to. Warnock won 4 matches and kept us out of the bottom 3, doubt very much if Hughes will be able to do either. Bet Warnock is having a little chuckle at our expense and I wouldn't blame him. |
Who do you play if you take out Barton and SWP? Our options are limited, can't blame Hughes for that.
The Hughes revolution on 10:43 - Mar 11 with 696 views | Neil_SI | I have to say I thought Hughes took a huge gamble with his team selection and formation and got it all wrong. I admire the courage and bravery to try something different, but I cannot fathom for one minute why we played 4-3-2-1 against a side so terrible and poor at the back, and who have really weak fullbacks. We really missed a trick here and we had ample opportunity to change things during the game or put players wide and never did, and that's the responsibility of the manager. I think I understood what he was trying to do, in terms of splitting the strikers and getting Cissé into a wider position to utilise his pace and then Shaun Wright-Phillips penetrating through the middle, but it never really worked in the way that he wanted it to. There was also a point where the game was in the balance with 20 minutes or so to go and was the perfect time to make the changes needed to solidify and potentially go on and win the game, but he left it too late. But, having said all that, and despite the major disappointments of yesterday, I've seen the first signs against Everton and even against Bolton, that we're just starting to move in the right direction, albeit slowly. So there's still hope.

Posters who were semi-regular and then suddenly all at one bombarded every thread with the same anti-Warnock rhetoric for weeks. Where are these people now one wonders? agree with that was sick of the anti warnock brigade carping on week in week out..till they got what they wanted NW out and MH in.. now I am not going start on MH ... but he has not exactly been a sucess... still hoping for a miracle think MH must stay we need stability and more players like CH and JM who play for the shirt

Warnock was desperate for a win in any form. He was told over Xmas he was in trouble and needed a striker quick to try and fire us to a win. Macheda was available and Warnock didn't have the 4 weeks of January to get his targets. Ig you believe the reports about Fernandes torpedoing the Yakubu deal he wouldn't have gotten his targets anyway. As for Macheda hanging around, for one thing he's paid for, secondly, maybe Hughes is trying to teach the t.sser some humility by having him train with QPR reserves.

I said after MK Dons away that it was the performance of a team with a dressing room that had stopped believing in or listening to its manager. I also said that given the way the fixtures fell and the transfer window if they were going to change it then that was the time to do it. And I didn't disagree with the decision, although I didn't like it much given what Warnock had achieved. There's a slight difference between that and blanketing the board with Warnock out rhetoric for weeks on end then suddenly disappearing when he is ousted, replaced and the team is still fcking sht.

Hughes had a fortune to spend in January so I would suggest playing whoever he thought necessary to buy rather than SWP or Barton....which would be no one, he clearly felt they were good enough, or is this still Warnocks fault!?? Personally I'd drop SWP for Mackie and continue to play Barton.
