QPR fans on 12:56 - Jan 16 with 6040 views | Neil_SI | I have to say, some of the people I've sat next to, particularly at the last few away matches has been an excruciating experience. It's such a contrast to some of the wonderful atmosphere's generated at matches earlier in the season. I wasn't best pleased yesterday and just couldn't enjoy the game, simply because the people sat to my left, which included a Dad and his three kids, were vile. The language coming out of all four of them, and the rubbish spouted, was just nonsense and a bit sad to see. It's no way to raise your kids when some of them are under ten and they're shouting obscenities that they shouldn't even know exist.

I always enjoy the atmosphere at away games. I go with my young daughter and tend to sit a little further forward than the lads who like to stand at the back. I prefer it to homes games in the v or W block in Ellerslie Rd I must admit. We sat close to the back yesterday and had no problem.

I hope I didn't scare you away! Generally it's fine, the away support we have is usually brilliant, but there's been a few games this season where it's been a bit weird and left me scratching my head.

Encountered the same yesterday & moved seats before blowing my top. Why travel all that way just to shout abuse (which is pointless anyway up there, not like anyonels gonna hear you). Third time away this season (other 2 Wigan & Swans) i've had to move seats because some tw@t's been near me abusing our players rather than giving them the support they need. Starting to get like a couple of seasons ago when, against Ipswich, large parts of the crowd booed Mahon every time he touched the ball......fcuking lost it in SAR that day

Interesting Neil - that is one of the reasons I'm skipping away games for a while. As we now tend to sell our allocation and in different sales periods, we no longer have a choice of who we sit next to. Some of my mates don't have the same number of points as me. I've had one moron after another next to me at countless games this year. Add in that using the QPR online ticketing system within minutes of tickets going on sale, I've either got a view of the corner flag or on the back row out of the ground.
QPR fans on 14:47 - Jan 16 with 5607 views | A40Bosh | Personally, I think that there is a BIG difference between sporadic outbursts of non personal spleen venting, based on an accpetable build up of frustration and the constant 90mins of vile verbal abuse you get from some "supporters". By this I mean there is a big difference if, after Jay's 3rd near (or not so near) miss, you hear people sounding off around you shouting "that was rubbish" or a general "for f'cks sake Bothroyd!!" and those that are continually screaming at him every time he touches (or does not touch) the ball and all you hear is a loud strong voice shouting "Bothroyd you are a useless f#ckin coont, f#ck off back to Cardiff you piece of sh#te". How it did not come to blows in Hennessys in Ruislip Manor on New Years Eve between me and the gormless plum near me who spent the entire 90mins shouting abuse at the tele at any of our 11 players who did the slightest thing wrong against Arsenal, I'll never know. There really are some absolute tossers out there.

I would add that the group I was with in the pub on NYE watching us player Arsenal included a few arsenal fans and some of their comments were worse than those by the QPR fans - especially towards Arsesharvin!

QPR fans on 15:25 - Jan 16 with 5518 views | robith | At Arsenal I was sat next to a very interesting man. I did try to chat to him, until I realised he didn't care what I thought as he was talking out loud not talking too me. One criticism when we lost the ball, was that "You need to build a team, not buy a team Rangers" - a noble sentiment, but slightly difficult to achieve mid game. And surely quite a lot of that building involves buying? He also said he hopes we get relegated as the championship is better than the premiership. I missed Arsenal's goal because he and his substantial mass was leaning across me berating a steward. It's not much better at LR to be honest. The moaning gits behind me are going to push me to self harm soon. I don't think they've said a single thing in support of the team all year. They also seem to love telling all and sundry that Bothroyd is on £50k a week, the concept of which I find hilarious. Yep, the old regieme wouldn't spend a penny on transfer fees but would happily give a championship striker a £50k a week wage!

yeah, if they are like that now you have to wonder what they would be like if arsenal ever ended up in a precarious position in the league!
QPR fans on 15:37 - Jan 16 with 5490 views | six_foot_two | You cant beat this for fickle supporters as I heard today on the radio that Thierry Henry was involved in a confrontation with Arsenal fans at the end of the Swansea game, this was just one week after he was seen as the returning messiah at the home game to Leeds.
QPR fans on 21:10 - Jan 16 with 5314 views | derbyhoop | There are a fair number of fans who seem to need a scapegoat on which to vent their anger. At the moment, it's Bothroyd. It's also been Hall. In both cases (and others before them) no matter what he does, the player cannot do anything right in some people's eyes. Meanwhile, players who appear to put in a lot of effort, get away without criticism. Even when the effort only goes part of the way to making up a lamentable lack of quality. Perhaps it's the English way. An article in the Sunday press was talking about how players boast about their ability to tackle, ignoring qualities like pass completion rates.

So went there with my boy for his first ever QPR match-and to my amazement he absolutely loved it,did not get bored as expected, loved clapping along with the songs and he wants to go again, first thing he said this morning was QPR win! On a side note about Bothroyd,i though he did ok,no worse then anyone, but the abuse he got from some fans was disgraceful, and the ironic cheers he got when he was subbed will really help his confidence, also when Hughes subbed Buzz a few people started to sing u don't know what u r doing, unbelievable, give the guy a chance,i did not agree with the sub but u have to show faith in the manager, plus we scored from the corner so genius sub, fans need to grow up!
