What's the latest on him? Are we going to see him back before the end of the season to power us to promotion?

I'm not sure we'll see him again in the hoops.

Surprised no talk of him coming back to fitness. Tough start to him but very good in the last couple of matches he plays and apparently excellent in training, I’d preserve as long as he is settled here.

Cant believe how poor Celar was when he got game time......serious questions if he will be good enough to play regular for us.

Although finally seemed to be adapting to physicality of the Championship & very significant improvement in last few games before injury,

If our 10s & entire team are scoring we should persevere, as he could come good & Alfie is an ideal man to finish games based on Friday nights excellent 25 minutes.

I think we have to give Celar the benefit of the doubt when he returns, which may or may not be this season. He was vastly improved in his last 2 outings before the injury. I'm sure he'll be very keen to impress on his return.

Never knowingly right.

I'm also wondering what the last comment was on Celar's injury. He was undoubtedly better in those 2 or 3 games - seriously unlucky timing.

That ball the young Korean lad played into Chair for his second would have been ideal for Celar - could see those two combining quite well if he gets back before the end of the season.

There’s very little choice to be fair. Nobody else would want him based on his performances and now his recovery from a serious injury.
OK, he did something in his last couple of games but he was miles behind on his performances (only just surpassed in the poor performance stakes by Madsen who is looking a completely hopeless case).
We just have to put him back into training, introduce him from the bench if he’s interested and see what we get. Will be interesting to see if he’s up for it now. Only other choice is to loan him out.

This.

I think we're playing a way Celar would reap more from. He's not one to hold play up like Frey and as one of an attaching 4, taking the central advanced roles is where we'd see him best.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

Really looking forward to him returning. Will be more mobile than Frey, and a bit quicker.
His 2nd against Cardiff was top drawer, a classy finish.

Obviously he offers a completely different option than Frey. Frey's hold up plat and physicality are exemplary, but sometimes quite predictable to play against. We saw at Hull how Lloyd changed the game. If we had a third option that OUR players could adapt to mid-game, it could unlock some tight defences. I also think Celar could also do well with Morgan and Edwards who both like to play passes through the centre, and Celar likes to run in behind.

I’m 60 and would wup Celar and Frey in a 100 mt dash, with both legs tied together.

Neither of them can run for toffee.

Celar well down the pecking order now.

Celar was pivotal in our season

Got the Cardiff goals then got injured. Long term

You can decide yourself which one of those two things had the biggest effect on us thereafter
I know which one I think was a game changer

As others have said, may never pull on the shirt again but you have to find others willing to take players like and Madsen off your hands. Let’s hope there are clubs like that around this summer

I thought he was mentioned on a pre match interview recently regarding his return. I thought they said he would be on the training pitch at the end of Feb.

Smells like a trout farm in here

pleased for him that he got those Cardiff goals and they were much needed for us as a club and for him as a player but I'm not sure he's got it to play at this level and for me we look a much better team without him but I hope he proves me wrong

"Žan Celar has been sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained during our home fixture against Norwich in December. The striker is now onto the second phase of his rehab following surgery and making steady progress. He is on course to move to the next stage of his recovery on the training pitch by the middle of February and start his grass-based progressions. Once this stage is achieved, a scheduled return to availability can be considered."

That was 24th Jan, so he ought to be back in training about now. We may hear more in the next week or two.

I'd preserve as well. Otherwise if Frey gets injured we'd be in a bit of a jam.

I think most of us had missed the fact he'd had to have surgery. Wasn't a minor tweak, by the sound of things.

God bless the guy, but when he limped off we were all saying in the stands it may well be a blessing. Sure enough Kolli and Lloyd stepped up and Frey has proved he's worth a place up front and we went on a run.

Based on what I've seen this season Celar has to be fourth choice striker now - loved the goals at Cardiff but he also missed two pretty easy chances in the 0-0 at Watford before getting injured.

What I will say, is that Celar played in a very different QPR side to the one rampaging about today.

Let's sort of face it we have improved since he has been out of the team. Looking forward to the prospect of Dembele returning in a team now motoring along nicely. Hopefully Celar can get fit and be moved on along with Madsen in the Summer.

Some of our players take so long to come back from injury I find myself wondering if they've been cryogenically suspended!

I much prefer Kolli and Lloyd upfront. I wouldn't want to hurt their development by putting Celar back in the rotation. Kolli and Lloyd give us much more movement and we need to support the youth
