Budgies vs Rs Match Thread 15:01 - Dec 28 with 38775 views | CamberleyR | Surprised not to see one yet so here goes, thread virgin breaking his duck. Would love to be optimistic but Carrow Rd seems to be like a mirror to a vampire to us. Talking of vampires, hope to see a reaction from that Boxing Day horror show. 2-1 to them. Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:30 - Dec 29 by QPunkR | Would have gladly accepted a point before KO, especially with that cobbled together defence. But you can't help but feel frustrated at conceding in the last minute in such a brain-dead fashion after unconvincingly pissballing about in possession for the last half hour |
That’s a terrific result for us considering what a ramshackle, cobbled together team we had. A point a huge morale booster. The omens for this were terrible but the atmosphere on coach coming home must be hell of a lot better than expected this morning 😂🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅
| Strong and stable my arse. |

Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:31 - Dec 29 by Damo1962 | Me too. Totally undeserved given what I saw though. So many areas of this team need attention. Great attitude, but you aren't winning many games if you have our possession stats...and shots on goal. [Post edited 29 Dec 2024 14:47]

Not sure you know what you are saying. Away to a team with only two home defeats so far and our possession stats were 44%, which is hardly an issue [Post edited 29 Dec 2024 14:38]

Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:33 - Dec 29 by Malintabuk | Find some of this strange on here. Norwich have only lost 2 games at home in a year.... We have come here off the back of an horrendous performance with a cobbled defence and got a really good point Did we honestly think that we would dominate Norwich in that 2nd half? They can bring on players like Ashley Barnes, we bring on Bennie..... Let's get real, that was a well fought point, we nearly got all 3 ....Norwich just done to us, what we did to Preston, score in the last minute ... well done Rangers a good point in trying circumstances 👏 |
Yeah I’d agree with this . There will be the obvious melt down but we were night and day to Boxing Day and showed great spirit and character . Even the comms were saying that the difference in the 2 benches was enormous. Ashby, Fox, Kolli, Morgan perhaps wouldn’t be starting normally. Paal ill, Chsir being nursed , Smyth being flogged to death because there is no one else . Let’s take a point and be glad.

Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:32 - Dec 29 by mart_Goblin | Would have taken that before the game so no need t ok throw too many toys out of the pram. Night and day to Swansea but we looked shattered at the end . Players out there who ideally shouldn’t be so willing to take the positives. Morgan toast again after an hour so needs to strengthen. Had to take the captain off who was playing well but plenty of character shown there . Nardi , Dunne or Smyth for man of the match . Thought Jimmy was immense today Expected a shellacking when teams were announced so not as bad as some will make out. Still a long way off being a decent side though but can’t ignore the injuries at the moment . Squad lopsided and not good enough [Post edited 29 Dec 2024 14:34]

Was the best player in first half but he runs the most every week so can’t expect him to sustain that level for 90 mins and he’s 18!
Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:39 - Dec 29 with 1892 views | kernowhoop | After Boxing Day and after a radical re-shuffle to cope with injuries, it surely tells us something that so many of us are actually disappointed with a 1-1 draw at Norwich!! Well done Rangers. Yes, it could have been three points but we appreciate that effort that went into that (and Marti's management of the resources).
Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:39 - Dec 29 with 1882 views | Ned_Kennedys | Wow the moaning and vitriol on here is something to behold. Frustrating to let in an equaliser but that was a game we all expected to lose easily after the Swansea performance and the team selected today but they all put in a great shift. Makeshift defence in particular stood firm against a very strong attacking team at home. I’m sure Cifuentes will be pleased with today, as will most supporters.

Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:35 - Dec 29 by StreathamRanger | Any goal conceded is frustrating but let's be honest, Norwich missed multiple very good chances. The positives were that the players battled hard after such a poor performance at Swansea. These injuries are really hurting us so we'll have to really dig in and scrap for any points we can get over the next few weeks. |
No, absolutely agree with you mate. Norwich missed some great chances before that and Nardi made some good saves. But to get so close puts a dampener on things somewhat

Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:32 - Dec 29 by corse | Jebus that was crxp. But a point is a point. |
You think that was crap? Away at a side that are so strong at home with a totally makeshift defence? Do you think you support Real Madrid? Excellent performance, great point. Shame to throw it away with one pass too many but in the end if we had just hoofed it, was coming straight back anyway. Frey didn't do much to help out when he came on. Any point without Cook is a good one in my book. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:41 - Dec 29 with 1783 views | dm97 | Can’t be too upset there. Once field went off it was the Alamo. Was expecting 3/4-0 so a point undoubtedly a good result. I know everyone wants a ST on loan, but my word if Cook and Morrison are out for more than 1-2 months we cannot survive with that back 4 every week. Loans needed, yet again, in January.

Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:35 - Dec 29 by easthertsr | Superb defensive display from a makeshift defence. We've had to go both sides of the country in three days players running on fumes and have survived. After Swansea the players dug deep for that point. Please stop moaning guys you can't fault their effort today! |
A great point today, not a great display but we move on. Thought Fox and Dunne did very well at the back today. A little lucky but who cares another point towards safety
Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:42 - Dec 29 with 1753 views | oldmeadoniansR | Problem was that when we tried to play it out we got picked off and when we went long it did not stick. Thought Freya coming on would have helped but today he lost most of his 50 50's. I believe we are currently over achieving with this squad so fair play to the effort and commitment today.
Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:44 - Dec 29 with 1666 views | themodfather | i like many thought we would lose, we played well and nearly won it, a good draw. well done the team and fans who went in blue and white!
Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:44 - Dec 29 with 1664 views | flynnbo | Disappointed to concede so late but had they equalised earlier I fear we would have lost that game. Battling performance and delighted with a point considering we're down to the bare bones .
Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:45 - Dec 29 with 1641 views | Pdog | From the start of the 2nd half it felt as if we were just trying to hold on to what we had with another game 3 days away in mind. Stark contrast from the 1st half where we showed some actual forward intent, but i partly get that. However an already patched up team finished that game with no real leaders (Dunne / perhaps Fox alone) and we didnt have the collective nouse or game intelligence to see it out which is disappointing. Would it have been any different with Cook, JCS, Field & Chair on the pitch? Quite possibly. Anyway, we learn from it and go again, decent point on the road would have taken before game.
Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:46 - Dec 29 with 1606 views | Rangersw12 | Field coming off and Morgan getting tired changed the game and allowed Norwich to win the midfield battle A decent point and something we would have taken before the game .
Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:47 - Dec 29 with 1571 views | stevec | Expected Norwich to score 4 and they easily could have done, so it’s admirable that we got a point. Nardi was superb as ever, patched up defence very good, but that last 35 mins and the performance of our midfield thereon was very poor. As an attacking force we are virtually non existent. Enjoyed the game but we are a tough watch.
Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:47 - Dec 29 with 1565 views | BostonR | What a great result. Reminded me of our game vs Huddersfield at ours this time last season. We nicked a draw and our season really improved. Yes, Norwich has lots of possession and we defended really well. It’s a great point away from home given who we have fit and available.

Just about to post the same, Field's yellow was daft and cost us over the 90

Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:47 - Dec 29 with 1554 views | danehoop | After Swansea I thought we might get destroyed given the injury situation in certain key roles is getting worse. Instead very pleasantly surprised that such a makeshift side did so well. Lost one game in last 6 and taken 11 out of 18 points, Swansea aside we have been difficult to beat. We are not in relegation form and particularly like that we are scrapping for every point with a comparatively thin squad, but also that we are seeing quite a bit more of development squad players getting first team experience that they and we will benefit from later on. That we further dented Norwich's aspirations is even sweeter.

Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:47 - Dec 29 with 1549 views | A40Bosh | Was genuinely going to be happy with a max of a 2 nil loss today, based on the last performance and the back 4 being decimated and Fox and Ashby starting - albeit Ashby was back over on the right. Initially felt frustrated because too much dicking around with the ball and Varane switched off when he conceded the throw that led to their goal. Overall, really happy with a point on the road, with that line up. Field protected for Watford by subbing after his yellow, Clarke-Salter hopefully being kept back for Watford and no further injuries please God. Still not looking forward to NYD against Watford, but this makes me feel a little more upbeat.

Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:49 - Dec 29 with 1497 views | bosh67 | Shame to concede late on but I think most of us saw that team sheet and thought 2/3 nil so the fact that we almost pulled off an unlikely win is a credit to the way we tried to at least be hard to beat. We were and we weren't beaten. 3 points would have been very sweet given our history at Carrow Road but taking 4 points of a Norwich team that has so much more ammo in its squad than we have is decent. A good point we move on and hopefully Marti will be pleased with the players who covered the park today.

Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:49 - Dec 29 with 1485 views | Stainrod | Compare the value of the Norwich squad to our squad. They could keep Ashley Barnes on the bench till the 80th minute. We had the lifeless statue that is Madsen to bring on and then an Aussie youth player. Marti getting a hell of a lot more out of very limited resources than the Norwich manager is out of his embarrassment of riches

Budgies vs Rs Match Thread on 14:52 - Dec 29 with 1385 views | qprff | First half excellent, second half not as good but still it’s a great result away from home at norwich. Need to find a way to play possesion based football with Morgan at the heart of it , was playing them off the park at stages today. Field was good as well and finally had more touches today with 40 odd. Morgan most touches for QPR with 63 but was tired towards the end but you would expect that. Chair was good I thought back to his usual self and worked his socks off. MOTM probably Dunne, Morgan, maybe even chair for workrate as well! Hopefully get a win at home on Wednesday.
