Minor edits made. You can research it yourself. The owner denying he cursed at the Man Utd manager. Memory plays tricks. I do not need to name names and was used to point out the "sellouts" were great for Swansea and feisty.

he was not an owner of the club and this story relates to The Liberty. The poster stated it happened at Old Trafford.

De Zweden was an owner and the incident was at the Liberty. You asked for details and on checking I saw this event 9 years ago was in the home game not the away game. I edited the details. ( that is what the editing function is for).

He denied cursing the Man Utd manager.

Why do you say he was not an owner?

He has never been referred to as an "owner" by Swans fans.

Did he have a majority stake in the club? Didn't he join the Swans board thanks to David Morgan?

It's no coincidence the majority of swans fans were pleased/relieved to see him go as we're the saints halfway through his debut PL season.

It's all well and good having a philosophy and an idealistic way to play. But if there's no custard in the cupboard you can't make a trifle... You have to adapt. He refused and has paid the price with his job (although I'm sure feet up with his millions in the bank will give him some compensation this Christmas).

I wouldn't say I wish him well, but I do respect him for playing an absolute blinder to make some money!!!

You were asking for details which needed some checking. He was a director so was on the board and he had a significant holding of shares as an investor in 2002 so was also an owner. What Swansea fans refer to is neither here nor there.

He had a minority stake in the club. No owner had 'majority' stakes. The 2002-2016 board were keen to avoid anyone becoming a majority owner before they sold up.

John van Zweden owned 5% of the shares, in no way significant. Martin and Louisa Morgan had a significant share 23.7%. HJ had 13.2%.

I will give him this, David Morgan was very much involved before the club went back to the fans. Yes, he only put in a small amount, but the amount is of no relevance, the fact he did is.

I was asked to be involved by David in a phone call at the time, we had all worked hard to bring this about. Unfortunately my employment at the time would have stopped it. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. But these guys stood up and did it, every one of them. No malice from me.

None from me, they were there when we needed it, but they could have left in better circumstances.

Not sure there could have been a time when it wouldn’t be met with some disdain by some of the Swans support. Many criticised them at the time not even knowing who they were really, EPL supporters who have since left in their droves.
