No Whittaker to worry about as an ex player coming back to bite us, only Obafemi. I'm going for a 0-2 win.

We are due a complete performance.

Dismal in the first half against Pompey and Luton.
But much better in the 2nd.

See them off

Plymouth have conceded 10 goals in their last 2 games.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

This is a game, IF the Swans have their scoring boots on they could rectify easily their absolutely dismal chances to goals ratio. Someone will have it this season. However, if as we displayed at Preston home we can’t go for the throat and batter them then it will be another frustrating evening.

The league table I looked at shows that Plymouth are usually a tough nut to crack at their own ground with a home record that matches or is better than the likes of Norwich Middlesbrough West Bromwich Albion Blackburn etc all top half of the table clubs.

And as it’s the Championship anything can happen. Comments like “ show no mercy “ and “ go for the jugular “ just show a complete lack of understanding. It’s winnable of course but it’s loosable too if that’s a word 😃.

We need a complete performance not a 45 minute one. Will this be it? Hopefully and a 2 nil win to us.

You’re aiming at me then yiu can have it back .
Going for the jugular
Full throttle
Foot on throat
Are exactly the terms used by professional sports people.
No mercy another.
“ we switched off”.
The way we have played this season would indicate that we do not play anything like 90 mins and drift in and out of games. The manager has stated as much l.” Switched offf

Anyone interpreting these terms literally is off the wall stupid

Now,that’s my last message to you as I don’t want this site soiled

Have a lovely Christmas

I see that Plymouth have just employed Rooney's ex Man Utd coach, Mike Phelan - as his new assistant coach.

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

Expect Plymouth, as any side at home, to press us hard early in the game, all for drawing teams forward to create space further up the park but we really need to release the ball forward earlier especially when teams fully commit to a press, and I don't mean balls hit anywhere, more into spaces or to feet where our forward players to compete one on one but also not isolating them keeping the forwards tight together and once possession is assured then with intelligent play stretching their defences.
If our full backs sit or start a bit deeper then the midfield can get higher up the park making us more competitive in the middle of the park while also being able to feed forwards run by the forwards or the even the fullbacks, I want our full backs in good positions to defend initially or even after we have scored to get ahead in games where similar as the start of away game the opposition must be expected to try and get on top or back into games.
We really need to adapt our style of play to be able to counter the opposition press or press home an advantage while not leaving ourselves by poor marking or overplaying in dangerous areas of the pitch namely in our half.

Looked at Cabango's mistake and you have to say it is a bad one too close to Darling, not making the right decision in poor conditions but was it compounded by Darling not attacking the high ball aerially instead of making a back for the attacker which left Cabango a bouncing ball to deal with. We have seen this tactic being used often under Martin but we have fallen foul of it on numerous occasions, yes in can help keeping control of the ball but it can actually stifles any constant pressure that we try to exert.

Indeed.
We surely have to quit playing absolutely everything through one player who drops back every time to receive the ball and then the said ball is rolled around.
Many will have walked rather than watch this tedium
When we break quickly,we look pretty effective .

When we are under pressure in our own box, then clearing the ball quickly is not the devil’s work.

Let’s do this,let’s crush them

Phelan joined after Peter Shuttleworth left by mutual consent, apparently he wanted out. Which seems strange after working with Rooney at Derby, DC United and Birmingham, can he see the writing on the wall. Phelans contract is only until the end of the season, it looks like there is no confidence in Rooney at Plymouth. Is the Swansea City jinx going to strike again, how often do we play teams and then the manager is sacked the next day.

Happy to clear out balls from the box but not having outlets to play the ball to, just lets the pressure return, we saw last season having Lowe high up the pitch found with a good quick clearance into space for him to compete for, led to a devastating goal by Key which sealed the victory.

We are often in a situation where we are under pressure close to our goal line.
I fail to see how dribbling @ ball two or three yards is the best defence .
I might be wrong

Agree about the dribbling, as for close quarter passing deep in our own half it should allow the ball to fall to the player with the best sight for balls further up the park not for that player to play hospital passes into condensed areas of the pitch.

I liked the tactic brought in by Curt I think it was of having two of our players wide on the halfway line when defending corners (Dyer was one?). It meant that the opposition had to have three back two to man mark and one in the middle.

We have seen it done by Williams leaving Ronald up top in the middle who did cause the defenders problems given his size, I don't think a younger Lowe the first time with us would have held the ball up so well as he did for Key but experience gained made him a better player so will to give Ronald a bit of slack.
As for MPH any slack I have given him is now stretched to breaking point,Is it just a case with both MPH and Abdulai don't seem to have the drive or desire needed to compete at this level in the positions they are pick for.
Do we start with Bianchini tomorrow his movement seems better than Vipotnik meaning we could bring Vipotnik on later in the game as needed as we have seen lately the crosses into the box to recover game not being convert with ineffectual heading, having said that we haven't convert as many chances as we should have on the ground either.
Just hope that winning formula can be found against some of these so called weaker teams.

Positive post on the negative side how often has a team ended a dismal run against us?

Mad it is a midweek game. Was a really good weekend last year losing HT and coming back scoring 3 in front of the swans fans.

I will go 3 1 swans. Only thing not be negative they have had more rest than us. But when I played football playing regular can make you fitter. You get used playing at high tempo which is hard to do in training.
