Feeling a bit down after yesterday and seeing QPR in such a mess plus Marti walking the tightrope I went to see it at the 10pm show last night. This thread is pretty much in agreement that both Gladiator movies are horrible but I enjoyed both for different reasons . However Gladiator 2 is a strange one and and its nowhere close to the original as happens most of the time. I thought Denzel Washington was a good guy in this movie but boy was that the wrong info . If anybody needs to forget about QPR just go see it and remember the sharks circiling are not for Marti

I really liked the first film when it came out but have to admit I don't think it's worn well.
Went last weekend and yes, if you read this thread first and assume it will be awful (I did) , you might be pleasantly surprised (I was). Not a great film by any means IMHO but some great epic scenes in it with a lot of historical accuracy (they really did stage naval battle re-enactments in the Coliseum apparently - incredible) and excellent attention-to-detail. Worth a watch.

Its a bit like me heading down to Loftus Road each home game and believing that I am going to see something different, something more thoughtful, creative, well-executed (no puns intended), but it is the same as I saw last year and yet I still go, enjoy it for the most part for the nonsense it is and then tell myself that I'm not looking forward to the next one...until the next one comes along!

I cannot now get the image out of my head that all those to be sacrificed in the West London arena are dressed in blue and white hoops and then the Lions, the Tigers, and Black cats tear them apart and Blue Birds, Robins, Hornets, Canaries, Swans all come and pick at the carcasses.
