MC has got to go 21:59 - Nov 5 with 60404 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | Sorry, but that has done it for me. You don't put a right footed player, you don't trust, at left back, yet leave your left footed defender at right back. Fcking stupid. A shapeless, gutless performance. Players walking, not challenging, arguing with each other. No shape, no desire. Something has to happen and fast as we have relegation written all over us. ***having had a good night's sleep, I don't want MC sacked, I just can't sit through this anymore. I actually hate this club at the moment.*** [Post edited 6 Nov 6:38]

"Head coach". You said it. We're not allowed near him, because he's just the head coach. It's a "collaborative effort", that's what we were told specifically. So you're going to sack the guy you went out of your way in the summer to paint as having nothing to do with any of it, are you? Can't have it both ways lads.

MC has got to go on 00:32 - Nov 6 by Ned_Kennedys | None of us have any clue who is responsible for the signings this summer despite your opinion. If Cifuentes is not responsible for any of them then he’s a fool for signing a new contract with so little impact or influence and willing to sacrifice his own career. He seems like his own man not a weak yes man. [Post edited 6 Nov 0:36]

Well, no, there are some clues. You just wash over them. And what sort of manager signs a new contract? One interest in financial security. He’s (relatively) young. This is his first big gig in football. He built a very good reputation last season for himself. He’s offered a bigger/better contact and signs it for the financial security it brings. Who wouldn’t? Even if he had some concerns on the direction of travel with Nourry, who wouldn’t? He can always still resign. He may get fired and get a massive pay off. And if those inside the game don’t rate/respect Nourry he can progress his career with his reputation intact. We also have no idea when the extension was signed. None. Could have been well before he realised the signings given to him were poor and the game model wasn’t working. As you love to say, we just don’t know…on his contact front.

Manager or head coach we’ve not won at home all season and we’re miles off it. Regardless of the cards he’s been dealt it a bloody disaster and Cifuentes has to take responsibility.

I would rather we still had Hoos/Ferdinand compared to what we have in place now but I think it’s laughable that Nourry gets all the blame for our sh1t squad and results this season and somehow poor Cifuentes is just a victim in all this. Management and those higher up have let us all down.
MC has got to go on 01:32 - Nov 6 with 2505 views | NorthLondonR | Football is a simple game really, which you can teach to young people... "don't admire a pass" is the very very first thing anyone should be taught. For some reason we simply cannot obey this rule and despite the rare appearance of players moving into space on Saturday, we completely ignored it tonight. Boro constantly played the ball forward quickly, or had their wide players switch play with everyone looking to find space. .. basic principles which unfortunately we cannot grasp, we are dreadful, our players aren't up.to it, it seems. Why have we got Kieran Morgan, progressive, forward thinking on Saturday, reduced to a shrinking violet four days later? What's happened? Football is a simple game

Very little, yes. Very, very little. I think he showed last season that he's a good manager, and now he's being asked to get a tune out of somebody else's idyll. Going into the season with Celar and Frey as your strikers. Your only strikers. Okay, not ideal. Can I pick Kolli? No you cannot. Spent the whole summer being told you have to shift Paal. Can't shift Paal. Wonder why Paal isn't that arsed at the start of the season. Paal injured. Where's our reserve left back? Oh, you've loaned him to fcking Dundee. This central midfield. Do you honestly think Marti Cifuentes, 4-3-3 king, wants these central midfield options? We've got a fcking spotty teenager starting in the pivot at home to Middlesbrough. Do you think that's Cifuentes' doing/choice? I just. I can't. He'll be gone soon anyway. Like I say, we'll look in here again in a bit. Probably after we've lost at Northampton.

A little? Yes. Root cause? No. Hopefully I’m wrong, it’s all on him, and a new manager will solve it and show how these signings are all superb. I spent most of last year being the boring voice cautioning against declaring Cifuentes a genius. He was imperfect and made mistakes. That is still the case. But he was still very successful last season. PPG under him (over 2/3 of the season) was a run rate of 10th, I believe. He faced every team in the league. With last year’s squad. This year we have a different squad. Not completely different but 10 players different, which is significant. We are now dreadful. A little responsibility, yes. But root cause? No. He had proven he can be successful at this level. Nourry has proven nothing. Belk has had far more misses than hits on player recruitment. I don’t think root cause is particularly hard to work out. [Post edited 6 Nov 2:02]

MC has got to go on 23:43 - Nov 5 by connell10 | I don't think Marti is the real problem. |
MC is part of the problem but I alos believe he is also part of the solution. Our real issues are above and below him A number of players brought in this summer are simply nowhere near good enough, even for League 2. They are Sutton United standard at best. Absent owners who employ a totally inexperienced Nourry and give him total control over everything. (CEO & DOF). Thats the real reason we are here in the first place. Owners with zero football experience employing people with zero football experience to run the club and run recruitment. The result (and results) speak for themselves. Nourry has to go. And now. He is totally incompetent. But until we have new owners - and owners who know football and know what they are doing - the situation is never going to improve. If Ruben stays and Nourry stays then League 2 in 2026/27 is exactly where we will be. Between them they have absolutley no idea. I think Clive summed it up many many moons ago when he said we were being killed by the kindness of our owner(s). Exactly!

Very few managers just end up leaving a club. Most get sacked. There has been suggested he signed the contract much earlier than the day of the fans forum so if it was in the summer then that’s when no games are played. Maybe something has gone wrong since then and this is his only way out now.

Clive, your second paragraph tells us everything that’s wrong with a DOF and manager trampling on each others feet. It creates this situation of pinning the blame on the fella we like less. Whether you like it or not, Marti bought into this (he signed a contract) and he is at least as culpable as Nourry and this other bloke who’s been getting a mention. I say they all go if it leads to a clean sweep and revert to the manager staying or going based on his and only his, endeavours. When I see the crap we are dishing out on the pitch, I want one man to blame, not a tri ad of men who we can apportion blame without ever getting to the bottom of the problem.
MC has got to go on 08:32 - Nov 6 with 1636 views | gazza1 | If it is true what is happening about transfers in and out of the club (insofar as MC has nowt to do with transfers in & out of the club) then I fail to see how MC is to blame and even more importantly how it can actually work. The coach/manager must choose who he wants in his first team squad!!!! and who to play.

Too many of our fans have form for abusing the players who care (Dunne, Dykes etc) and being taken for fools by those who are just in it for themselves. Giving Dunne grief is sadly not surprising and to be expected. We have far bigger issues but our so called leaders reaction on being caught out for the 2nd goal was an absolute disgrace, rarely if ever have I seen a player so keen to demonstrably point the finger at others. We need Cifuentes to wise up quick and we need the real leaders in this group (Dunne & Field) to pull all together otherwise we're in big trouble.

Thats the model we are working to, marti says we need this type of player , and nourry cracks open the lap top and produces a list based on numbers, apart fro nardi whi i belive marti wanted , not one of the poresent squad were marti players , coupled with a massive injury list and a squad of nobodys we are fecked,

MC has got to go on 08:41 - Nov 6 with 1580 views | Wegerles_Stairs | Marti played Santos at left back last night which is inexcusable. Granted, we have injuries but Saito did well there when he came on against Pompey. Everyone could see what was happening on that side throughout the first half and he didn't change anything. Again, that's on him. Just look at the first goal. It is extraordinary. We've got big problems and Marti is certainly not responsible for all of them but he's certainly not blameless.
