Dale v Bromley (FA Cup 1st Round) Match thread: 13:52 - Nov 2 with 12504 views | Yorkshire_Dale | Just been reading that if we win today we pocket £45000......enough to keep the lights on a bit longer. Plus we are then guaranteed a further taste in the next round win or loose. Looser today gets £15000. These are useful figures to a Club like ours. Let's give it a really good go!

Brave he might be, but he will never learn. Sad for Hendo as this might be his last FA cup game( maybe not)........nearly a winner today.

Eh? Surely changing the tactics showed he did learn? What did you think of how he employed Burger and then Henderson? The following post to yours correctly illustrates his shortcomings though. Bringing Ferguson on and shifting too many people in the back line invited pressure that wasn’t there. Really hope the obvious deficiencies defensively don’t entirely mask what was a good game and one which we played some really good football for the majority of. Gutting way to lose a game, but we brought that on ourselves and need to be brave and not accept we had to defend. Because we couldn’t.

Dale v Bromley (FA Cup 1st Round) Match thread: on 17:51 - Nov 2 with 3446 views | BigKindo | After what I have witnessed this season and last is the 'Professionalism' from many teams. When is Big Jim going to coach Dale to have a lie down on the pitch when under pressure and kill the opposition's momentum? It isn't 'playing cricket' and some will no doubt disagree with me. But at times we do show a naivety in managing the game.

Shame we messed around with subs at the end as we lost momentum. Gutted we're not in the draw. Never mind, there is always the national league tinpot cup on Tuesday

Hogan was still on the pitch. The mistake was moving to the right of the three instead of leaving him where he was. That and dropping too deep. Something those on the pitch and the manager are responsible for. [Post edited 2 Nov 18:08]

Dale v Bromley (FA Cup 1st Round) Match thread: on 18:48 - Nov 2 with 2864 views | NorthernDale | 2 - 0 down after 4 minutes was poor, it was the same old messing around at the back, it is getting to stage, we are repeating the same mistakes and negative tactics every week, why can McNulty learn or does he lack the footballing brain to change his tactics. At 3-2 we should be killing the game, but McNulty tries to pretend he a genius by making unnecessary changes. I get fed up with the passing across the back four like some training session and buggering it up, when we attack, we are a good side. [Post edited 2 Nov 18:49]

We don’t play with a back four. What about his tactical changes that led to us leading 3-2? Specifically the use of Burger and Henderson. Neither were negative were they? I’m all for analysing what goes wrong, the start and the end are valid criticism, but can we at least be fair?

There's a recurring theme with how we start games, we never come out of the blocks. There's a recurring theme with how we keep gift wrapping goals to our opponents. There's a recurring theme with how we keep finding ways to snatch defeats and draws from the jaws of victory. We need a strong vocal leader on the pitch, somebody to get hold of the team by the scruff of the neck. As a team we are very naive and so is the manager, we have a soft underbelly. Good teams don't lose that game today, they stick the knife in, the manager decided to do the opposite and invited our opponents on to us when we should have been keeping the ball in their half of the field. Yes, it might have been good for the neutrals to watch but to progress as a club we need to win football matches and today we surrendered the game when we had it won.
Dale v Bromley (FA Cup 1st Round) Match thread: on 19:07 - Nov 2 with 2696 views | NorthernDale | Sorry I meant back three, bringing Hendo was good move, due to his experience, but we did need to make any more changes because we were doing well and I felt the other sub may have unsettled the team. Again the two subs in injury time seemed odd and I was surprised that Henry did not get a chance today, yes I accept that East and Henry are similar, but both have the skill to control the midfield. One of the main positives from today was Dennis, who looked good.
