Just noticed that Cambridge proper team played West Brom yesterday in a friendly!!!!!!
That's taking the piss isn't it? Colchester were going to charge money to watch men against boys. Was it ever advertised that this was just going to be a farce?

Bit of a waste but guess doesn't do the confidence any harm.
Just as well not being played at home as think of the flak which would have been aimed at the club if people had paid for parking, etc.
Many moaned about the games with Ipswich, etc but surely better than a youth team?

Certainly second string for sure, but I wouldn't say youth team - their first XI played yesterday and they only made one sub (at half-time), so I would have thought today's team would be mostly regular members of the squad? Anyway, doesn't really matter, it's game time and match fitness that matters most in friendlies, but scoring a hat-full of goals in the process is always a bonus. |  |
