One of the teams in this article will be who we face when we have our first foray into the FA cup qualifying rounds. Any particular team/round take your fancy?
Lewes away would be my pick for selfish reasons.

Easter weekend 1994

You miss-read that James. T'was September.

Only been there once, don't remember the year or score but was April-ish and bloody freezing!

As confirmed by TVOS.

Apart from when we won 4-2 ìn 1994/95, no!

The 1-1 on a January Tuesday night in 96 was amusing. Thankfully they put away fans under the shed stand on the side.

Including one who looked like a "Polish ship builder"

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Remember going to Scarborough in 1977 or 78 and losing 4-2 terry Owen (michael’s dad) scored 2 if I recall correctly

November 1977….just one of a string of FACup defeats to non league teams in the 1970s. At least that was away.

My GP often asks me about my history of self mutilation….all down to the FACup in the 1970s

Nantwich away for me.

It'd make my trip there a short one, so selfish. However, I could recommend several pubs in the town

Chester beat Nantwich yesterday.

Tamworth home or away. Kept an eye on them since our last FA cup encounter. Currently top of NLN after winning promotion as champions in 2022/23.

Didn't Paul Downing sign for them recently?

Is this as good as guaranteed to be a 3pm Saturday KO then, or could it be moved if BBC show it online?

Chelmsford (if they win their replay) and Biggleswade were also in our section.

I just hope that none of our loanees are unavailable as their parent clubs decide that they don’t want them to be cuptied.
Squad is wafer thin as it is.

Of all the loan players, I can imagine Ryan East will be unavailable, of the others McDermott (Port Vale - could go either way), but I can see, Moulden, Conway and Oduroh being allowed to play in the Hereford game, in that they may be some time off the first team at their respective clubs.

Is that a reference to my balaclava perhaps ? Tok some stick for that but it was very toastie.
The one I recall is the 0-0 in 1990-1991 where we ignored dire weather warnings to attend and were moved to the seats at half time to get out of the snow which stopped just as the teams came out.

Actually, no, it's a reference to someone else, who was often the cause of amusement at away games in those days. You will definitely know who I mean, although he's sadly no longer with us.

My only trip to Edgar Street I recall we lost 5-1 with our goal being Steve Whitehall charging down a goalkeeper clearance! No idea what year….

I have few good memories of us playing Hereford United in the 90s. They even beat us in Alan Reeves' last game for the club, wearing a horrible kit and sponsored by Sun Valley.

Only the best certainly didn't doodle-do that day.
