I think in 1966 it was only …. England, West Germany (not even all of it), Brazil, Argentina, Portugal and the Hungarians maybe who had any chance at all.
Well done to them and Bobby Charlton was a bit special, but even Scotland beat them at Wembley in 1967. The Baxter game. Look it up, you will enjoy that.
The England team were not even as good as the England 1970 WC team.

I watched the Scotland game, they were outstanding on the day.
But sadly like Wales and Northern Ireland failed to qualify for the 1966 Cup.
