One of the great, great jazz sax players. You always knew it was him regardless of what he was playing or who he was playing with. His sound was so distinctive.

RIP indeed. A big part of my 70's single life. This song is off the Native Dancer album which got slaughtered by the critics for being to commercial, but I loved it. Song features the Brazilian Icon, Milton Nascimento. Good memories. God bless you Wayne on your current voyage.

RIP. Thanks for bringing a rare mention of jazz to this forum DMM. My fav sax player was Zoot Simms. Not considered by many to be in the higher echelons but I think he had something special.

Another of my musical heroes departed. Peter Green, Gato Barbieri, Nana Vasconcelos, now Wayne Shorter. Not sure how long Airto Moreira is going to be around (seriously ill), Carlos Santana collapsed on stage last year (back performing). John McLaughlin seemingly still going strong (Shakti on tour again this year), but age catching up with everyone.

R.I.P Wayne. About time we had a Jazz/Fusion thread.
Love a bit of Brasilian sax. Favourite is Stan Getz. You'd expect these people to be chilled but Getz seemingly had quite a few issues. R.I.P. Wayne Shorter.

Sonofpugwash, thanks for uploading that, but it pales into insignificance when compared to the original MO version:
