I'm not fussed about it but something else will be on TV for me to watch. Never really get beating down other sports. Apart from Formula 1 which is actually shit.

I moved to the US 15 years ago skeptical about all the American sports, trying to have an open mind but assuming that I'd just end up watching MLS. Pleasantly surprised that I'm a total convert to both Basketball and NFL, haven't watched a second of MLS on TV since I got here.
They're different, but once you learn to appreciate the nuances there's a ton to enjoy in most sports. Just got to approach it with an open mind.
Heads up to anyone that wants to watch the American commercials, NFL game pass is showing the game for just 99p. I know you can watch for free on ITV, or on sky. The commentary is exactly the same whatever you watch it on.
Me and my brother went to Wembly to see the London Monarchs v Barcelona Dragons euro final thingy and spent over four hours wondering what we had done.
I've been in the states for about four thanksgivings over the years, and the worst thing, the very worst thing, has been having to sit and watch hours of some of the most slow-moving, stop-starting, overhyped shite with family on those days. If I was a yank, it would be basketball and ice hockey for me. Baseball is boring shite too.
Barely paid attention to it before but married to an American the past eight years and started watching to connect with the in laws (Giants, Bills and one BiL who just watches Auburn and hasnt a clue about the NFL.)
Was feigning interest for a while but absolutely love it now and watch a game every Sunday during the seaso.
Only US sport I got into - been to a few ice hockey games over the years but its pretty dull, left the only baseball game I attended in the fifth innings out of sheer boredom - and I will happily watch 5 days of test cricket no bother.

I get what you are saying about baseball. When I go to watch a game, I go with a couple of mates, and we sit and chat, have a beer or two. Not too many beers, not for $15 a can at Camden yards. I do find it boring though, especially on television. And this is coming from someone that will be sat in the cold at Lord’s in April watching county cricket.
wouldn't class myself as a huge fan and don't really have a team but my son wanted to go to a game at Wembley last year which we both really enjoyed, watched the playoffs and last nights game and thought it was superb. I was hoping for overtime last night as thought both teams were brilliant on the night.
Over hyped? Absolutely. A game that's never really made it out of its home country and yet its portrayed like the world cup final.
I know a lot of people love watching it and thats fine. I've tried to be interested, but just cannot get into it. I'd liken it to rugby union in some ways where the endless stoppages and confusing laws make it borderline unwatchable. But at least a game of Union is over in under two hours.
I think when devotees of a sport start with the "its good once you know all the rules" and "very tactical" stuff you know its not that entertaining to the average person. Like train or plane spotting, those who love it really love it but the rest of us just don't find it very interesting. I mean chess is as strategic and tactical as it gets, but who wants to watch it being played?
Doesn't help that I'm not a fan of American "culture" which seems to be a big part of following this sport.
i've tried. i've tried drunk (bored), i've tried doing it in public (pleasantly distracted), I tried drunk again (even more bored). the sheer f*cking waste of that sport drives me up the wall. The Premier League comes out smelling of roses once you compare - some lads getting paid goodness knows what to come on for half a game and just stand where x marks the spot because they're a bit large.
didn't actually mention adverts which is genuinely half the sport. if you're sat there waiting for the next burger king advert you are a deviant.

“The thing about football - the important thing about football - is that it is not just about football.â€
It’s not just how many adverts it’s also that they are about as creative as a punch in the face. It’s like watching commercials from the 1950,s but in HD. Inducing your lowest primal feeling to get you too get the message.
There was one with Venus Williams giving an Al Pacino, any given Sunday speech, that went on for ages only for a bottle of Remy Martin to pop up at the end. Another one of someone waiting on hold on the phone. Someone hands her a bud lite and next thing they are up and dancing around the room. . Cocaine lite more like. It’s funny if it was ironic.
Another gem, A lonely dog gets a new puppy friend and it’s for Amazon prime. Dogs, cats, happy families, various celebrities just standing in a room drinking Pepsi or working at Dunkin Donuts serving the great unwashed. Absurd doesn’t even cut it. Very rare I watch live tv except the premier league football. Record everything.
Enjoyed the game though. The athleticism on show can only be admired. Eagles no 88,wow. If the best athletes in the US played soccer……….always come up in soccer world conversations here.
I started following the Dolphins in 1970, when Don Shula took over. Won the Superbowl for the '72 & '73 seasons... which was fantastic. Been a very very very long wait for similar joy. (Still waiting)
