Kidderminster Harriers owner Richard Lane rages at West Ham for refusing to share ticket money following the two sides’ recent FA Cup clash.

Appearing on James O’Brien’s LCB radio show this week, the frustrated club owner said a share of the Hammers’ ticket money could have been used for new floodlights and investment in the academy.

Harriers came very close to causing one of the biggest upsets in the tournaments recent history when they were “nanoseconds” from beating their Premier League opponents in the fourth round of the cup on the 5th of February.

Richard Lane told LBC: “The news isn’t good. Unfortunately, we had the news that they would prefer to invest in local charities and not share the ticket money with us.

“So yes, we are continually unlucky with the result and secondly the FA denying us a replay which has deprived us again from some well-earned money to continue to grow.

“We need new floodlights, the academy needs investment in et cetera — all the investment that we were hoping to get to put back into the club, we unfortunately haven’t had that.”

Mr Lane explained that costs escalated with hiring extra staff and security on the day.

He added: “I was unfortunately disappointed and frustrated.

“We had to put so much effort into putting that on. People do not understand what we went through.

“We hired so many staff — it was just incredible what we did, but it all costs money and it’s about what we get at the end of it. “

James O’Brien added: “We need a chant on the terraces of West Ham — ‘give Kiddy the money’ or something like that.”

West Ham United declined to comment, however under FA rules, the club is not obliged to agree to give Harriers money generated from the game.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

No surprise really, just looking at how they inadvertently condoned Kurt Zouma's behaviour after caught kicking his cat by allowing his selection for games pretty much sums up the morals of the Club

"In a free society, the State is the servant of the people—not the master."

The theme of this story is not correct I suspect.

(Prior to the Third Round Proper of the competition each team in a tie will receive at least 47.5% of the net gate receipts from that match. For any tie up to and including the Sixth Round Proper a non-league club will receive a minimum of 47.5% of net gate receipts.)

Kidderminster is looking for a handout off West Ham and want the West Ham's share of the gate receipts I suspect. Reportedly West Ham gave the money to their charities, They can ask of course but going to the press is poor conduct.

The money was West ham's money and they wanted to give it to charity. That seems perfectly reasonable to me. Why should they give it to Kidderminster Harriers?

The Chairman wants a handout off West Ham. West Ham decide whether to give the money to charity or a lower league football team. They chose a charity. Good for them.
