Hornets on Sunday 19:31 - Feb 24 with 296829 views | EllDale | They’re tweeting that their “matchday operations” are being restricted for the home game against Barrow on Sunday for reasons that they don’t want to divulge at the moment. The bottom line is that the crowd capacity is limited to 920 and there will be no cash admissions on the day. Wonder what that’s all about?

Ming, you are normally sensible, but if I was a hornets fan I would be worried about the fan base. Barely 300 now and dieing off at an alarming rate. All those free tickets to get kids and amateur rugby players to watch Hornets and none of it worked. When people who have gone for their entire life, including paying for a season ticket twice in the year they went bust, have given in, you know it is a problem. Look at the Hornets message Board in the week before their traditional derby - 3 posters and nothing positive to say except criticism of your Chair for not being transparent. Not a happy camp.

So ; do you agree with what Glory is saying? and what's all this pretending to be a Dale fan for? anyone with half a brain can see who it is. Pathetic. He does Hornets no favours with stupid comments like he's been guilty of....and nor do you.
Hornets on Sunday on 12:16 - Apr 15 with 3391 views | mingthemerciless | I watched both teams back in the day for decades. My circumstances changed ( my wife got a Saturday job and I had young kids to look after ) and the football, being on Saturday, had to go. I suppose I gradually lost interest in football after that and apart from the odd game ( Newcastle in the FACup being the last ) I’ve never been back. Although I played football to a good level when I was younger I prefer Rugby these days. It’s like football used to be before all the big money and diving came into the game.

How would we like it if a bloke who had previously been chairman of a local rival and had left them under a cloud suddenly turned up and wanted to buy the chair of the board at Dale. Opportunist …always has been, always will be. |
Bloody hell you certainly know more about him than I do.

Hornets on Sunday on 09:33 - Apr 15 by RAFCBLUE | He's under a bit of pressure is Mazey, all of his own making of course. Hornets signed a few very expensive but very experienced players on one last payday - 36 year old Rangi Chase and 40 year old Fuifui Moi Moi sprinkled with local kids. The scrum half Sheridan comes out of Mayfield and is decent prospect. Then Mazey's out giving it the big 'un in the press about Hornets doing "the biggest commercial deal outside of Super League", with Premier Kia. https://www.seriousaboutrl.com/rochdale-hornets-make-waves-with-the-biggest-comm That article is dated 1st December and heavily contradicted by a set of accounts where a director had to write of £143k. There as a lot riding on today for Mazey vs the Roughyeds - a win is expected if the aspirations he is portraying of Championship rugby next season are to be realised but lose - and Hornets have already lots to North Wales Crusaders, then questions are going to start to be asked about this very old and costly squad. There's quite a few of us that carefully watch the fortunes of both teams in the town. Rochdale Glory might do well whilst he's climbing Blackpool Tower to remember that. A lot of Kia cars on the Spotland car park, it must have been a half decent deal😊

Hornets on Sunday on 06:26 - Apr 15 by pioneer | “fans without tickets are asked not to attend” What a sad day this is for Hornets, Their chairman telling fans who want to watch the game, suport their club, spend their money to find something else to do while the team play in front of around 9000 empty spots. He told swinton fans where they could go, now he is telling hornets fans where they cannot go. |
I doubt very much that he does not want a crowd in excess of 920.

Hornets on Sunday on 18:27 - Apr 15 with 3100 views | mingthemerciless | Great game today guys. The ‘Nets gave their all in spite of having a player red carded in the second half. Every man played his part and the effort they put in was tremendous. Are your guys playing tomorrow ? The ground staff were out taking the posts down and mowing the pitch as soon as the game was over. I didn’t have a pint today but the bar looked hammered as I was leaving. Full of Biffos drowning their sorrows no doubt.

Hornets on Sunday on 19:42 - Apr 15 with 2923 views | 49thseason | Sorry to ask what might be a question already answered by why is the Hornets crowd limited to 920? I'm guessing they only use the main stand, but is it because they can take drinks to their seats ? And if so why not do what we do and not allow them to take drinks out of the bar and sell more tickets? I imagine you probably need a drink to watch them but it just seems self-defeating, especially if they don't make anything from the beers they sell???
Hornets on Sunday on 20:30 - Apr 15 with 2854 views | EllDale | Interesting to see that Andy Mazey is tweeting about how good it was to see a “packed room full of past players” today. Sounds like a lot of the 920 may have been invited guests rather than paying spectators. I’d be miffed if the game had apparently sold out before I could get a ticket only to find the hospitality area was full. Explains why the ordinary punters couldn’t get a drink until 2.30pm though I suppose.

yes 800 turned away..the bar was packed out with record crowds, queues never reduced to half time, apparently over £5000 was taken behind the bar .Well done Hornets for providing the football club with much needed funds. Just think what might gave been ice full capacity would have been allowed. But hey cest la vive

C,mon Kel a bit of banter goes a long way, the bottom line is both clubs need to sort out the ridiculous restrictions on Hornets games. The only way both clubs can survive is by helping each other out. Honestly I was told £5000 was spent behind the bar today..so to both clubs for f***s sort it out.

Hornets on Sunday on 08:54 - Apr 15 by R17ALE | Something you won't be aware of is that Dale fans now possess very active bull shit radars. Mine was pinging away whilst reading your drivel. It hasn't pinged as much since I last heard Roger speak. |
Oh how true. "It’s common place with Internet forums for people to hide behind aliases and their keyboards while pushing agendas for club officials." What, indeed, is "Rochdale Glory" doing under an alias? What agenda is it pushing, (demented pro-Hornets pro-Morton House propaganda?) whilst miserably failing to convince anybody with made-up nonsense? Our B S radars are superb, but this one is a very easy 'aliarse' indeed. We've seen 'em all. Even some bury interlopers and JPS made a better job of it than this "RochdaleGlory" troll. Lying that you know the outcome of a potential High Court action that isn't anywhere near court yet, when you know naff all about the details (which are confidentially with lawyers in such cases) and then say "we" (??) are going to lose? Blatantly unbelievable B S. That particular paragraph by the troll has been saved and will be quoted back in due course. The post on the thread at "Hornets on Sunday on 08:37 - Apr 15 with 629 views RochdaleGlory" will, eventually, be ridiculed for years to come. It's been saved so deletion won't help. "I’m afraid I won’t be giving this current regime another penny of my hard earned till they do the right thing and leave Hornets alone." Like you ever gave RAFC a penny. Expecting said troll to adopt a new user name.... [Post edited 16 Apr 2022 3:58]
