183,000 cases and over 10,000 total hospitalisations recorded today 19:08 - Dec 29 with 6075 views | Professor | Despite clear gaps in testing. I think some people posting on here in recent weeks need to wake up to the understanding that Omicron, although a lesser individual risk, represents a risk to the population. A third of London Fire Brigade missing through Covid After being ridiculed for suggesting we would be looking at 200,000 daily cases then some should be looking up the recipe for humble pie. Get vaccinated and get boosted, because the chance of infection is considerable
183,000 cases and over 10,000 total hospitalisations recorded today on 10:31 - Dec 30 with 871 views | felixstowe_jack | Fortunately apart from London, the land of the unvaccinated, hospital admissions are only rising slowly. Hard to tell the actual number of daily new cases as yesterday's included 22,000 from NI which was all new cases since Christmas eve. Similar story in Scotland.

189,000 today. No delayed data. Shortages in testing capacity in England.

If you can’t get tested you can’t be in the stats - or am I a cynic.

I’m not sure it’s engineered but the policy of promoting testing then not having the capacity seems more stupid than dodgy.

Close but still no cigar as it appears there is delayed data. They include 2 day's worth of cases for Wales not one just day. Just around 20,000 cases. But close enough for a government or professor's work obviously. Even Felix knows better LOL. [Post edited 30 Dec 2021 22:17]

The figures over the last week are completely distorted with all four governments collecting different data with both Scotland and Wales not collecting any data for some days. The same thing will happen over the New Year Bank Holiday. Figures are unlikely to be accurate and comparable until 5th January.

Yes I know, it takes 4 days to get an accurate case count even without bank holidays. But look on the bright side, prof can be happy that he can add those Welsh cases on to the previous day to offset the overcount for that day.
