Cooper's gone from not having a clue about the state of the pitch to getting his mate writing it's now diseased.
Cooper must have forgotten about this, like..... err, 2 days ago!!!
Apparently the Trust had asked about it and the Club had said it was from a "heavy schedule" - again, nothing about it being diseased.

Conspiracy theories begin coach organises destruction of pitch to suit his style.
People need to step back and engage brains...the Opsreys have moved it would have been easier to let them continue paying at the Liberty and reduce maintenance to ruin the pitch. I think and again we all can have opinions the state of the pitch is more to do with tge change in stadium management infrastructure and cost cutting..the previous award winning groundsman tweeted some cryptic comment. Of course when interviewed Steve Cooper was heard to say the pitch is in a state as it's not been looked after properly due to cost cuts |  |

Swansea often trained on the pitch during the summer, although, speaking after the draw with Bournemouth, Cooper revealed his troops have been operating at their Fairwood base for some time now. |  |

Because when asked directly 2 days ago he didn't have a clue, now his mate in the Press has said it was diseased back in the Summer.

My Cooper "quote" was tongue in cheek in line with the tone of my post. All of a sudden speculation abounds Cooper has used the stadium for training and is deliberately trying to run the playing surface and then is "hiding" this when questioned about the state of the pitch. No way would he come out and say that which is what I was trying to infer.
The Ospreys usually train at Llandarcy but that became a field hospital so they moved to St Helen's hut moved games from the Liberty about a month ago | |

I thought the Ospreys were mixing venues between the Liberty and the Gnoll ... they are scheduled to play Castres at the Lib tomorrow. | |

Update from Trust:
Liberty Stadium Pitch
The Trust has received many queries from our members regarding the condition of the Liberty Stadium pitch, which looks to be in significantly poorer condition than the award-winning surface we have enjoyed in past seasons.
We have discussed the situation with the club’s management team and we understand the issue is due to a number of issues, such as the end-of-season renovation work taking place in March rather than June as normal, the quicker turnaround in games due to the shortened calendar this season, significantly increased rainfall in October and a disease in the pitch which has seriously impacted the quality of the grass.
The Trust has been assured that the issues are not down to any cost-cutting, with the new pitch installed last season at a cost of over £500,000, and the team that has maintained our award-winning pitch remains the same as in previous seasons. Experts have also assured the club that the issues with the pitch are not structural and, with the right conditions, can be resolved.
In terms of remediation efforts, the club has brought in extra artificial lights to speed up that recovery and have hired additional ground staff to help in that challenge. Unfortunately, December is a relatively busy month at the Liberty, for both the Swans and the Ospreys, however the January fixture list looks to be much kinder and should assist in that challenge.

So the rugby is still played in there?
And the Trust has now changed its tune to the last recent update on the pitch, where surprisingly, there was no mention of disease.
Nor was there from Cooper 3 days ago.
Why won't anyone be honest about what's going on?
The grounds man has commented on copious training sessions going on there until late November.....

It is but it's still most part grass and that grass has taken a hammering these last few months.
If, as seems now likely, thst Cooper was taking training on there then that's just bizarre.

Something else we should be aware of
2 Ground Maintenance
2.1 The Club is to be responsible for the maintenance of the pitch and for the general maintenance of the ground, including (but not limited to) ground safety. The Club must ensure that adequate arrangements are in place to maintain its pitch in good order, as required under Regulation 13.
27 Playing Surface Standard / Slope of Pitch
27.1 The playing surface shall be grass and must be of a high standard, as defined by The League.
27.2 It must be flat and free from surface depressions and excessive undulations.
27.3 The maximum slopes allowable shall not exceed an even gradient of vertical to horizontal 1:41 in any direction.
27.4 Each Club shall take all reasonable steps to maintain its pitch in good order. The League may require a Club to take such steps as it shall specify if not satisfied that an adequate standard of pitch is being maintained, including but not limited to The League commissioning an independent report on the state of the pitch by a Club, the cost of such independent report to be borne by the Club concerned.
Guidance
Both the referee and away team manager mark the condition of the home pitch. Should a Club’s average pitch mark fall below 3, the EFL will write to the Club requesting observations on why their pitch has deteriorated and what remedial measures will be undertaken to ensure that the pitch improves.
27.5 Each Club shall ensure that the individual person with overall responsibility for the maintenance of the pitch shall:
(a) where appointed after 1 August 2018, hold at least a Level 3 qualification by reference to the table set out below; and
(b) in each Season attend not less than one educational / development conference organised by The League for ground staff. The League will issue guidance information for dissemination to all other individuals involved in the maintenance of pitches.
Guidance
The League will make available to all Clubs at the beginning of each season Pitch Protection posters for display in the home and away changing areas and Match Officials room.
All Clubs will be required to complete and submit a Ground Criteria Survey at the beginning of each season.
29 Premier League Ground Criteria — Championship Clubs only
29.1 Each Championship Club shall by no later than 31 January in each year submit to the board of the Premier League for its approval (not to be unreasonably withheld) fully detailed and costed proposals setting out how, if it is promoted to the Premier League at the end of that Season, it will be able to meet the following requirements of Premier League rules by the following dates: |  |
