"Swansea City's owners have warned it could take years for the club to return to the Premier League as they confront the "harsh reality" of relegation."

Equity instead of loans to cover a financial hole?

This all has a very bad feel. I'm wondering about the motivation at the moment though. Is it to try and publicly blame the Trust if they take the shithouses to court? "The legal action means that we can't fund working capital and the club is at risk".

Buying shares off the Trust brings no new money into the club and gives them no benefit so they would only offer again if they were pretty sure they would lose in court.

As a club, we are a state. The Trust has never needed to be at the top of its game so desperately.

Well that's just a lot of mis-quoting and guesswork in your post mate so hang on and we'll find out more.

Of course we wouldn't have to find out if the Trust just communicated, instead we have to wait for these dull forums before getting to hear anything .

Poor show.

Surely it won't take years, only took em two years to get us out of it.(Alright calm down).
Can we trust them to rebuild that's the question!

no ,their agender is to make money ,no matter what .we'll be on a shoestring as already been proved

Interview with the Owners on 19:35 - Sep 3 by hobo

wtf is this all about??

"Having budgeted for much more, the Swans received a combined total of only around £30m for the departures of defenders Alfie Mawson and Federico Fernandez, forward Jordan Ayew, centre-backs Jordi Amat and Kyle Bartley, midfielder Sam Clucas and goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

That combined figure is around £15m less than the sum of the fees widely reported for those players."

Do they mean we only received £30m this season, with further payments to be received in future seasons?
Surely there's no way we'd only sell that lot for £30m? That's abysmal even by the board's standards. Other clubs would have sold Mawson alone for that amount

Those figures don’t add up.

A disastrous interview.

It looks like the questions may have been "manufactured". Kaplan, Levien or someone else / their PR advisor chose the questions.

They come across as very arrogant.

This is very telling:
Do you see yourselves staying for the long haul?

SK: "Yes we do. You're going to be stuck with us for a while."

It feels as if Kaplan is goading/taunting us.

Haven't the trust been legally advised not to go public with regards to taking legal action, which I would have thought is normal practice in cases such as this.

That they and Jenkins had made mistakes?

That they gambled on staying in the EPL?

That Potter did actually want Woods and they hoped Brentford would lower on the last day?

That we got less than is reported (or widely thought) for the players we sold?

That we are going back to looking for the identity that served us well?

That we have more faith in working with players we know than we do from risking big transfers coming in?

That we want a young and hungry squad of players who want to play for SCFC?

That the remediation involves the selling shareholders as well?

That Jenkins has less involvement in the recruitment policy now?

They state that no dividends have been paid obviously not as that would mean making a payment to the trust. What they don’t state is how much has been paid in consultancy fees either to them or to other businesses owned by them. There’s more than one way to extract money out as we have seen with Morgan and Dineen.

You're going to be stuck with us for a while."

That part definitely made me feel uneasy. Not a good vibe.

If you read between the lines, it doesn't sound like that Jenkins will be here much longer.
There is no real praise for him. They are attempting (badly) to explain why they still use him.

I guess that's me again you are referring to.

But I, or others would't be wrong would we? As at this moment in time nobody knows, do they?

It's all guesswork and allowing the benefit of the doubt. Now offering them that may turn out to be misplaced but until we know how can anyone be wrong.

Why don't you state exactly what it is they're up to so in a "couple of years" we will look back at your revelation and be able to tell you you're right.

Let's have it?

It’s interesting, even possibly telling...the Yanks specifically make mention of the Trust and wanting to talk to them (for the first time in ages) and to do so not lawyered up. Also, making specific reference in that to the previous owners (so linking it/ them all up). I wonder if the Yanks are getting their own legal guys now telling them the Trust may have an actionable position and they’re getting their own position in place in front of any upcoming Trust announcement.

Definitely a more conciliatory tone from them, even the acknowledgement of the Trust in all the rest they say stands out. As someone says above, now is the time for the Trust to step up and I suspect finally the Trust have those in place and of a like mind to step up.

Oh,..Dave, what's occuring?
