In the ground no music or Eden on the tannoy. Maybe the new safety officer has decided the noise is too much for our eardrum's.

As much as Eden's mates are trying to make it so, is this really a big deal ?

I couldn't care less about him being a plastic manc or not. It's been a bloody relief being able to talk at normal levels of volume before the game and at half time. If he comes back and turns the volume back up I may have to stand round the back of the stand until each half has started.

It's a private matter between the club and their employee. That's where it should stay. Tittle-tattle on here and elsewhere, will likely cause unnecessary damage to the reputation of both parties.

They should sort it out without outside influence.

Does that include people from Radio Manchester broadcasting and tweeting about it?

Jimmy Wagg only explained on air what happened, not why it happened. He was there, sitting directly next to Eden when the situation occurred. He was asked the question and answered it from what he knew.

He made no assumptions, allegations and gave no reasons on air. 'Make of it what you will' was his comment.

I have no idea what 'Twitter' had to say about it.

From a PR perspective, no-one whatsoever wins with that article, especially Eden who will have his name now associated with it at every point in his future given the way that internet searches work.

Odd that Rochdale Online have printed it when no party has actually commented - a point made in the article.

The article also refers to a fact that Eden has "quit". Again, unhelpful for everyone concerned.

This fallout is turning into a real mess.

Walked out 20 minutes before kick-off?

Absolutely blatant lie.

One of the commentary team came running in the Dale Bar looking for him at least an hour before kick-off but lets not let facts get in the way of a good story eh?

And unfortunately, as I alluded to earlier, the walking out prior to the match starting was a grave mistake. If there were problems - of whatever nature - they should've been broached once the game was over, then perhaps handing in his notice with any grievances attached. That would've been the professional way to do it.

I was hyper-critical of the club and among the first to put Eden's case forward a few short months back, but the wording and tone of this communication from the club leaves us in no doubt that the club are now trying to say "I told you so" in an equally (imo) unprofessional way.

I for one, am prepared to take this on the chin and - with the worst of all possible outcomes, i.e. Sweetmore back ffs, left feeling that Team Rochdale should NEVER be used as an advertisement for the club again. We should invent our own slogan. I'll be having a think.

Poll: What are you planning to do v Newport

So... on 25th August, Rochdale Online announce a "new media partnership" with RAFC, promising fantastic coverage, teamwork etc.

Then, in well under a week, despite no comment from either the club or Eden, they publish this which will go down like the proverbial lead balloon at the club

About as bad as it could be (from both parties) Cheap shot from Rochdale Online...amateurish from the club in the way they have handled the whole affair.

Bye Bye new partnership I'd think.

I was the tannoy man from 1976-81, and those old enough to remember those days it was hit and miss whether it worked or not from one week to the next! I dont know anything about what happened on Saturday, but had it been me, no matter how upset i was, i would have carried on and then tried to sort the problems after the game instead of leaving there and then.

It's been an accumulation of things though, not just what happened on Saturday.

Thought it'd be wise to pop on here and just clear up a couple of things, particularly as the vast majority on this messageboard have been great with me ever since I was appointed.

Firstly, I knew the article was coming from Rochdale Online and I appreciate that it's something they most likely felt they had to cover. I'm already been in touch with them to ask that they amend the article, as it certainly wasn't 20mins before the match that I left. The gates weren't open when I left, and at a guess I would say it was around 1:40. I'm sure this was just an honest mistake, and they've replied to let me know it'll be amended this afternoon.

Secondly, I'm sorry. I'm apologising here to the fans that I've let down because of the nature in which I left. My intention was to quit straight after the final whistle, but that wasn't possible. I won't go into detail about my reasons behind leaving, but it had to happen before kick off. I've always been able to stay calm in difficult situations, and Saturday was the first time I recall in my life where I felt I was going to snap. The idea of sitting there with a mic in my hand and doing that match worries me even now. I had to go when I did, but I am nevertheless sorry.

Thank you to everyone that has been so good to me over the past few months. I feel so relieved at this moment, and everyone around me can see it. I'm more than happy now to let this little issue go and for everyone to enjoy the season.

Up The Dale!

I don't know you, nor what has gone on but it seems since Day 1 the club have had an agenda to somehow get Dave back into his post in whatever capacity.

I doubt anyone will begrudge you leaving for whatever your reasons are. The club have handled the situation from start to finish terribly.

As people say, Team Rochdale, only when it suits.

To be honest the outcome is/was always inevitable, jobs for the boys in afraid.

I've met Dave probably twice so no favouritism either way and don't know Eden at all,it does seem from the things I've heard Edens been well and truly kippered, does it surprise me,not a single bit........ another moment of glory for the club

Sorry, TVOS, I'm only aware of what JW said on air, as I was listening to him on the way home as he related the 'strange events' that had taken place. I've not read any other accounts, except what's been on here.

I still maintain it's not an issue for public consumption, but a private matter between the two parties. No-one should be condemning either party on/in a public forum.
