This - apparently once you've registered your initial 25 Prem players with shirt numbers back in August you'd cannot reallocate in Jan unless you've got a free number or have sold the previous allocated player. | | | |

In today's Evening Post there is a list of all squad numbers which go up to 63, of which 60 are used by current squad members.Thirteen are out on loan, but their numbers have to be retained.
At the end of the season the numbers can be re-allocated.
Number 3 was the only lower number vacant as a result of Taylor going.Thus the allocation. [Post edited 4 Feb 2017 8:50]
