Swansea City v Everton - Official Match Thread on 17:11 - Sep 19 with 2305 views | TheKirkyLife | I will happily take a point from that game but boy oh boy Garry needs to replace Gylfi for next match. Poor yet again and added hardly anything. Ki looked much better and I have a feeling Grimes wouldn't do worse either. Give someone else a chance, gaffer! As to the Cork debate, I believe someone already said it but he's not a playmaker - he's our most defensive midfielder and added extra steel ahead of the four and Fabs when replacing Leon. The Shelvey-Ki combo could be used for more open matches :)

Good assessment . Fernandez is boardering on awful with his passing, and has been since day 1, he needs improvement in this area if he is to progress. Ash was absolutely superb as was Stones for Everton. The Swans passing is looking less fluid by the game, Ayew and Siggy are sometimes standing next to each other in the pocket and Montero does all the hard work then for some reason likes to stand there for 20 secs and just chip the ball in with no whip or pace, a defenders dream! Everton looked the better team today, they looked like us a few seasons back but with far better quality. They have some class players . I don't see us being able to change too much though, the shape seems to be all about Ayew and Siggy is becoming a major casualty of this even though he is working his balls off closing down space and doing the hard yards. Big test for Monk in the next prem league selection, does he drop Siggy or Shelvey or stay the same? I think its a matter of fine adjustment, what we are losing in our flowing football we are making up for in work rate, and that sums up exactly where where siggy is with us at the moment, a worker .

Swansea City v Everton - Official Match Thread on 17:02 - Sep 19 by WarwickHunt | Dyer's played his last game for us. Barrow's cameo was one of the few high points today. |
People said that when Ki went on loan. But regardless, whether he has or he hasn't, that doesn't mean that Barrow was the reason Dyer went on loan. Otherwise he wouldn't have gone anywhere in the first place. Also, how have we had so many red cards shown to teams paying against us? What's going on? This cant be real.
| Did you see that ludicrous display last night? |

No doubt we'll have the 'we we're shitters' on here later, but you can't say anything other than that was a tough game and a well earned point. Although something needs to be done with Gylfi, I'm not blaming him, it's just a system problem that needs to be addressed.

We were very pedestrian in everything we done. JJS looked f*cking knackered around the 60 minute mark. Thought Cork had a very good game. Stone was excellent for them.

Swansea City v Everton - Official Match Thread on 16:05 - Sep 19 by jennierlim | And that's why Leon isn't played anymore! We need more dynamic like Ki who can do the same job except also play the ball forward. Gylfi is getting abuse but Cork is the play maker and hes played him 1 pass the whole game and that was a 2 yard pass on centre of park. He's also only given Jeff one pass. He is not taking enough risks on his passes. GET KI ON NOW GOD!!!!!!! |
Yes we needed someone to take conversions now that Halfpenny is out.

We'd have been screwed without Jack today. The obvious thing to do is play Ayew as the number 10 behind Bafe and put Routs (or Dyer ) on the right. Ayew's no winger.

I think most would agree with this but will monk leave soggy on the bench ? At the moment he is trying to accommodate both in fairness it's been working but some tough calls meed to be made and some ego's may suffer.
Swansea City v Everton - Official Match Thread on 17:50 - Sep 19 with 2041 views | AnotherJohn | From one point of view this was a good point against a very decent team, but I thought we looked pretty blunt upfront. One positive was Barrow, who looked dangerous when he came on. [Post edited 19 Sep 2015 17:57]

Not if the two teams couldn't agree on the price...
Swansea City v Everton - Official Match Thread on 18:01 - Sep 19 with 1999 views | midswan | Agreed,Ayew looks a perfect behind the striker player.Plus a dedicated wide man would protect right back more and offer width both sides not just all through Montero. Will Garry bench Siggy though ?

Can't see soggy being dropped either. I thought we'd be seeing THE DIAMOND being used a lot more and that's why we let Dyer go out. But to then stick with 4231 has confused me somewhat (not hard). I'm not quite sure what Garry's trying to do in the final third at the moment.

Swansea City v Everton - Official Match Thread on 19:33 - Sep 19 with 1739 views | jasper_T | Why is Shelvey still taking the set pieces? He's shit at them. Should be dropping Jonjo anyway in the games where we'll be struggling to keep hold of the ball. That "he always looks forward" praise he gets cuts both ways. Still hungover from England duty.

So you have come to that conclusion on today's performance? Everton are top six this season, it was a good point, two seasons ago they would have walked all over us, progress indeed

I agree with this. They are a form team at the moment and I don't think it was as bad as many are making out. Possession wises the stats were close and our chances were every bit as good as theirs. The fool Atwell did not help either. We are not at our best at the moment but I reckon we would have won that firing on all cylinders.

Swansea City v Everton - Official Match Thread on 10:19 - Sep 21 with 1525 views | JFSwan | Jack Cork and Kyle Naughton were the only ones who tried to take responsibility of the game yesterday. Nobody else looked like they wanted the ball. That Watford loss after such a good start seems to have really kicked them in the teeth, the quiet arrogance of a confident team wasn't quite there yesterday
