NFL Thread 2014 22:12 - Aug 7 with 9065 views | C_jack | Let's get it going. First weekend of pre season starts tonight. 28 days until the regular season kicks off with Packers @ Seahawks. Who's your tip for the Lombardi? How's Johnny Manziel going to do in his rookie season at the Browns? [Post edited 7 Aug 2014 22:27]

And they achieved it by losing them yards on the last play of the game. Looking forward to this Ravens @ Steelers game, be interesting to see how Pitsburgh get off without Bell who's been outstanding this season, hopefully a lot of ball for Brown as he's in my playoff fantasy team.

It might be correct in regards to the intricacies of the rule, but then the rule needs to change because that was a catch all day. Could that be the last we see of Peyton Manning?

Enjoyed all 4 games this weekend, baring the first half of the Seahawks Panthers game, thought and hoped the Ravens were going to do it against the Pats too. Terrible decision on Bryant, but as you say its in the rules, so had to be made, if it was a yard further it would have been a TD via breaking the line and the contact with the ground wouldn't have mattered, strange rule. Makes up for the flag controversy against the Lions last week though. They said they're going to assess Peyton in March, he's not been good for about 5 games now, so not sure if he's been injured at all or just age really catching up on him. They haven't really got anyone else to come in and are way down the list for a good draft, perhaps they could do what the Seahwaks have done and bring in someone cheap and use the money to strengthen elsewhere, WIlson still on under a mil a year, though apparently going to be made the highest paid player in the summer. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

NFL Thread 2014 on 22:16 - Jan 18 with 1823 views | JackFish | This game is bonkers, turnovers all over the place, Wilson with two completions first half then makes a 3rd & 19 and Seahawks score from a fake FG.

Seattle and Wilson in particular just don't seem to be on it today, proven by that last pick. Hope the colts can upset the Pats later on also, can't see it though. And a Brady V Rodgers (if they hold on) Super Bowl will probably be the best game.

They were the same against the Panthers last weekend, blew them away in the 4th, been a cracking game in fairness, bit of everything. [Post edited 18 Jan 2015 23:14]

Packers bottled it, tried too hard not to lose, when they just needed to continue their usual game, taking nothing away from the Seahawks though, they really stepped up in the 4th and obviously in OT, feel for that guy that messed up the onside kick, one job, catch the ball and you're more than likely to be Champions and in the Super Bowl. Just got my tickets for the Lions @ Chiefs game too, can't wait already.
NFL Thread 2014 on 17:29 - Jan 19 with 1727 views | jruss1 | I can think of of least 5 plays the Packers should of made, that would have won them this game. They won't get over that for a while. Thankfully Pats took care of business and badly exposed the Colts.
NFL Thread 2014 on 18:03 - Jan 19 with 1722 views | JonnyTheJack | That is as bad a defeat I can remember. Hideous decisions and McCarthy play calling was John Fox-esque. Didn't watch it the Pats game, thought they'd win comfortably. The 2 best teams going at it, can't argue with the matchup. Siding with the Seahawks at the moment.
NFL Thread 2014 on 18:27 - Jan 19 with 1713 views | jruss1 | I'm not convinced by Seattle's receivers or passing game. I would play man to man on them. Pats secondary good enough to do it. Then play an extra man up on the line and try to limit Lynch. Seattle need a running game, exactly how they got back into the game last night. Offensively, Sherman's and Earl Thomas health may become a huge issue. Eddie Lacy has some real joy running at them, Blount a very similar player.

Well, it could have made the difference. An underinflated ball is easier to grip and also to catch. Given the second half, they'd have won anyway but the issue for me is yet again the Cheatriots decide they need to stomp all over the line. Bellicheat will never have the class of Don Shula.

NFL Thread 2014 on 00:20 - Jan 27 with 1619 views | jruss1 | Actually, the difference between 12.5 PSI and 10.5 PSI is equal to the weight of a dollar bill. So hardly any difference at all. Certainly not worth this over reaction. And doesn't lead to any advantage what so ever. If your going to hit the Pats for this, you better hit Aaron Rodgers for admitting he tries to over inflate them....funny nobody raised an eye brow back in November when the CBS comms blurted this all over national TV. Now if it was Tom Brady back then..... It's complete nonsense, an absolute non-story. Turned into a witch hunt for the NY media and anybody who has lost badly to the Patriots in big games over the last 15 years (that's a very long list) I've lost count of the people Brady could sue for slander for calling him a cheat and a liar without any knowledge of facts or the leagues investigation. What this really goes back to is Spy Gate. And all that nonsense about video taping other teams practises that was never proven. And is just as ridiculous as it sounds. People never got over it. Never will . Any chance to dig up any dirt...they will take it. Did they under inflate the balls on purpose? Maybe. Maybe not. Who knows...who cares. As pointed out the difference is so minimal it's not worth talking about. Does everybody else in the league under/over inflate? Possibly. Certainly seems that way. Again...who cares. Did any one care before or if any one else does it? Nope. This is simple. Harbaugh threw his toys out of the pram over the (legal) formations in the divisional game, Brady made his 'learn the rule book' comment. Harbaugh doesn't like it and tips off his old buddy at the Colts about under inflated balls, who tips off the league. Who, rather than doing what they should, and warning the Pats, had a huge sting operation led by an ex Jets employee with a massive score to settle. Now they trying desperately to find evidence of tampering that does not exist. It's also rather co-incidental it came a week after the Pats filed a tampering complaint against the Jets owner Woody Johnson for his comments on Derrelle Revis.... In the mean time, Belichick (who I've never seen so forward in almost ten years of following the Pats which tells me he's just as bemused as I am) does his own investigation and under cuts them with a perfectly acceptable account of events that has been confirmed by dozens of scientists. Prove him wrong NFL.
