Geof Thomas had more skill than Palmer, but was just as bad a player. He contributed absolutely nothing most times I saw him play. No pace, no passing, nofinishing, no tackling. Shocking player.

Ha ha, Geoff Thomas was a name I was just trying to conjure up, wasn't he actually captain once, or was that a bad dream?
Since my previous post I've worked out Carlton's selection - a la Mike Bassett the manager (Taylor?) wrote his team selection on a biscuit tin, although Huntley couldn't be found...

John Barnes was ok but agree Taylor did an incredible job turning that Italia 90 team into the worst England side I've ever seen. Andy Sinton at right back at the Euros, bloody clown that Taylor

Andy Sinton at right back, when he was a left winger... no fault of the player mind...
and for the risk of being shot, I thought Hesky was very under estimated. Did a lot of the hard work, without the recognition, but too many poeple omnly equate being a forward with scoring goals. He set up and contributed to many of Owen's goals...

Batty was streets ahead of some of the players mentioned here. Had excellent positional sense, good tackler, good control, and developed into a safe and skilful passer during his time at Blackburn. Great attitude as well.
