Having seen the game last night got me to thinking how badly our English lads Are being mugged off by the England set up and how little some of our other players Are valued compared to English counter parts.
Welbeck playing wide and runs around like a headless chicken nowhere near the class of routs but this guy would cost around 25m, lallana is a player i rate but looks average in that team yet liverool bid 25m for him yet apparently value BOny at 18m .
Shelvey has been pro en to be at least on the important stats far more creative than Jack wiltshire yet doesnt Get a look in ,but wiltshire is valued around 30m and shelvey according to west ham is valued around 8m .
Glenn jonson had a shockingly bad first half ,passing the ball into touch being woeful with the ball and playing the opposition onside yet is considered a fantastic full back.
Isa England try and be fluid as a team but it Made me realise that watching the likes of rangel and britton pass and move they Are stedets ahead technically than alot ofnthe England lads, britton is one of the best ball players in the prem league yet Will never feature for them in a million years though in fairness England Are quite strong in that position.
Id fancy our first choice line up to combat an England team quite easily which isna bizzare thing to say .
England do have quality but not enough of it IMO . Im not blind to the failings of the likes of shelvey and routledge but to not Even be anywhere close to a call is a travesty.
If routs was in the same form playing for a club like Southampton he would be in,if shelvey had a similar season playing for west ham he would be in ,if britton played forna high profile club he would Get a call too.
Im happy they dont Get the exposure in one way but gutted in another way as it means some of These boys Will only Get international call ups of they move, im thinking more about shelvey than our other lads really .
He is young getting better and has ambition to be an international,is it a closed shop for him unless he moves?
Vorm,michu,dwight and JDG have hai ed call ups while playing for us and These lads have been called up to some of the best international teams in the world ! Yet some of our equally impressive English performers havent, plain daft !

Off on a slight tangent, I know, but does anyone else remember a friendly game which was played at the Vetch around 20 years ago which saw the Swans beating Wales? I'm sure I was there and the Swans won it but I cannot remember much else about the match, apart form maybe Keith Walker scoring for the Swans.  |  |

There is IMO another issue of us attracting good English players down to us, we all know that Huw and Monk will want a good spine of British Talent but if we stay in the prem league it the same thing continues it may well taint the idea of a decent up and coming player moving to us.
So while we think England is nothing important to the Swans maybe its more important than we think, fooked if i know want the answer to the problem is though!
Maybe a shocking world cup and self realisation that if they dont pick the players in form regardless of club they wont go anywhere ? | | | |

Anyway, as i said its just bit of a shame for players like Dyer,Routs,Britton and Shelvey that they would have to play on a par with Xavi and Messi to get a chance of a call up for their National team.
JDG and Vorm have just been confirmed as making the Dutch 23 for the world cup,thank god the Dutch pick the player not the club he plays for,its one reason why JDG is obviously happy to consider staying here,if he play well he gets into the Dutch team,thats how it hould be IMO . | | | |

If wellbeck was a Swans player he wouldn't be going to the World Cup, playing for a big club means you have one foot already on the plane regardless of form and this is one reason England will not win the World Cup or come close to winning. Thanks mate but I don't think it was that game as Wales were the Swans' opposition. Though I cannot even remember who the Welsh manager was at the time. Bloody memory's failing me!  | |
