Rooney Linked With Stanley?
After an unsuccessful trial with Huddersfield Town, John Rooney is now being linked with Accrington Stanley. Not much of a step up from Macc is it?
Attacking midfielder Rooney spent the start of pre season with the Terriers and played a couple of games for them but Lee Clark told him he wasn't going to keep him on.
Rooney still has an offer on the table from Macc but with the possible signing of Matty Hamshaw, that contract might well be ripped up and binned.
Accrington boss John Coleman was asked if he was interested in Rooney and he replied "It's news to me".
