Before you read the headline and assume that I’m a Bony “hater” please believe when I tell you I’m not, I’m actually a fan, I was one of the fans that welcomed his return and was angry that we didn’t bring him back directly from Man City.
I just feel that we have fallen out of love with him or even HE with the Swans, now if you roll back the years then we can all regale the goals scored against top Premiership teams and the storming games he gave us, I mean, that’s how he got his move to Man City in the first place a who are we to argue with a player with ambitions?
Let's now look at the player we have got back (Taking away the injuries obviously) do we really have the striker that’s going to fire us up the league? He did get a goal against Hull which was well taken, and he did look pretty sharp albeit still not 100% match fit.
I genuinely believe with him and Montero fully fit we have enough to get us to a reasonable position although I honestly don’t think I would want us to get promotion this year through the play offs but that’s another story for another day.
Do we now think that Bony still has that love affair with the club and its fans? I don’t think so, so should we look to off load in January to either reduce the wage bill or cash in now and invest, and if we do that who should we look at to replace? McBurnie can get goals but I don’t think he’s consistent enough, so we need a consistent goal scorer or at least a constant goal threat with the midfield also chipping in with goals which again, is another story for another day.
We are at times playing some good football and have scored some good goals, so my question is, have we fallen out of love with Bony?
