Whatever Happened To... Alan White

Alan White left the U's at the end of the 2003-04 season, rejecting a new contract to join Leyton Orient. He was the U's Player of the Year in his final season and left Layer Road having made 166 appearances, scoring four goals.

Despite signing a two-year deal with the O's, he moved to Boston United on a free transfer after nine months at Brisbane Road. The following season he was the Pilgrims' Player of the Year, but made the switch to Notts County in 2006 at the end of this contract.

He was made the captain at Meadow Lane and despite nearly being ever present, was allowed to join Peterborough United on loan for the final weeks of the season. He was then released after just one season with the Magpies.

He was expected to sign for the Posh, but returned to the North East to join his home town club Darlington. He spent two seasons at the Quakers, leaving the club when they entered administration and joining Luton Town on a two-year contract - the club he originally joined the U's from.

His second coming at the Hatters was short lived and after half a season he was transfer listed for financial reasons and returned to Darlington on loan. He subsequently left Kenilworth Road after just over a year by mutual consent.

Conference North side Stalybridge Celtic was his first of three clubs last season after leaving Luton. He moved up a league joining Gateshead in the Conference two months later on a monthly deal in November 2010. He was released by Gateshead in February this year and then joined Conference North side Blyth Spartans until the end of the season.

He started this season at another of his former clubs, this time Boston United in the Conference North, but only this week has left them to join Harrogate Town in the same league.

Clubs since leaving the U's: Leyton Orient, Boston United, Notts County, Peterborough United (loan), Darlington, Luton Town, Stalybridge Celtic, Gateshead, Blyth Spartans, Harrogate Town.
