Trotman leaves on loan to Chesterfield
Dale central defender Neal Trotman has joined Chesterfield on a two month contract, with a view to a permanent signing.
Trotman's time at Dale has hardly been spectacular. Despite arriving with seemingly a great deal of pedigree to his name, Trotman disappointed in early performances culminating in a sending off against his former club Oldham after a needless challenge.
After winning his place back in the starting line up, Trotman's performances have improved in recent weeks but whilst the defence has continued to ship goals, it seems that Trotman is the one to make way, and he joins Chesterfield on a loan deal which sees Spireites defender Dean Holden head the other way.
Trotman has played twelve league games for the club, with two further appearances in cup competitions.
