Saints V Yeovil The Preview

Saints have the chance to start to strut.

Whilst no opponent in this league should be underestimated as we have found out by losing games to four of the bottom seven and indeed drawing with a fifth, todays opponebts Yeovil, the time is here when Saints need to start showing their quality and posting notice to the rest of the promotion challengers that we are ready to move up a notch.

Our rivals must be getting a little agitated with us, whilst they have all been on great winning runs, we have still kept on their shirt tails by just plodding along taking a couple of steps forward followed by one back, what we and our opponents know is that we are a better team than our stop start form has suggested and that if we put a winning run together then we can charge up on the rails.

That being the case now is the time to do it, at Yeovil we failed to turn it on, but strangely the Glovers are slightly a better side away from home  so we should be wary of them, although they do seem a side of quark strangeness and charm in that despite a reasonable away record, they have the second lowest goals for column on the road in the division, which suggests that they are a side that are not going to come and attack us.

We have to take the game to them and crush them before they have had a chance to savour the atmosphere, indeed we need to make them fear the biggest crowd they will play in front of this season, not enjoy it.

Despite the fine words of Nigel AdkinsSaints have not been focused, in that objective he has failed miserably as has been shown by the times we have blown up on the road to minor opposition, but the time is now and Saints have enough good players who can step up a gear when they cane see the target in sight, the job tonight is to win and win well, to get back the team spirit that has long been missing, to get back that confidence we have lacked and to put an arrogance in our step that should be there in players who are considered the best in the division, lets start putting sides to the sword.

A good five match winning streak will take us to withn sight of the finishing line, we have one win under our belts now, add another four and we will be on 67 points with games in hand, I am fed up with seeing our ex players play us and dominate those that replaced them, whilst its doubtful Paul Wotton will play tonight, and Im not as much a critic of him as some, the point is we have players of twice his capabilites in our midfield they now need to show that to the world.

Saints can take a big stride tonight, its in their hands lets hope we have learned from history.
