WOWWEE!
WHAT A GAME!!!
So many good things but the most obvious was that they played as if a huge weight had been lifted from their shoulders.
The great escape can’t really be on, can it?!

What a difference.

Despite some reservations when the team was announced -Jan B, Ely, the shape at the start looked good. Then everyone put a shift in.

Matched Chelsea in the first half and then in the second half, some heroic bodies being put on the line kept the clean sheet and got the win.

Team looked well set up and players looked well up for it. Even did slightly better at using up time, Lavia taking 20 mins to walk off the pitch.

If we play like this every week we will have a chance of picking up some points. Whether that's enough now, who knows. But it will be good to watch.

COYR

PS hope Azpilicueta is unhurt and Mara doesn't dwell on what was a really nasty looking accident.

Listened on Radio Solent. 12 mins of injury time was agony! I' m shattered. Trouble is lots of the bottom teams did well today. Bad day for Leeds though. Set up for a huge game next Saturday Leeds v Southampton.

Hope springs eternal! Was a good time to face Chelsea, out of sorts as they are. But credit to Saints for a very solid performance! I thought we would have a chance to hang on if we survived the first 15 minutes of the second half. That proved to be the case, though we were under the cosh at the end. Big and fast up front gives us a different look and better options, so surprised Onuachu and Sulemana were subbed so early. Moi was not effective, otherwise everyone did well. Credit each of Bednarek and Walcott for a good shift, though surprised as are many as to why they are picked ahead of others. Selles seems to have enough about him to let him take things through the end of this season.

Finally we looked like a team that wanted to play for the coach/manager.Give him the job as the guys obviously looked up for it and played with conviction right from the off.
I for one could not of been more happy for the lads as they have there mojo back and now the only way is up COYS.

It’s amazing what can happen when set up properly and you play and fight as a team, as a squad….

Odd set up and as lovely guy as he is by all accounts Ely shouldn't be starting. Great news that stu Armstrong is fit again as well as peters. Who knows what will happen next but after 12 months of wilful incompetence today feels great.

Holy crap - who saw that coming? Well we are not dead yet. Everyone played massive and the Defense gave it everything. TEAM effort for sure and it needed to be. COYR

Can we play Chelsea every day?!

Also, the black socks with white kits looks really smart (like we're Sevilla)!
