Striker Fails Southampton Medical Friday, 1st Sep 2023 21:52 According to the latest reports coming through, rumours that emerged earlier in the day that Ross Stewart has failed his Southampton medical are true and the striker won't be joining Saints.
footballinsider247.com are claiming that Ross Stewart has failed his medical and will now not be joining Southampton.
They say that the issue is the strikers Achilles injury sustained in January that kept him out for the rest of the 2022/23 season.
They also claim that this will now mean that Saints will not entertain selling Che Adams and that he will now remain at the club.
So far there is nothing but silence from Southampton FC and they have made no confirmations either way, they have of course not announced the signing, but nor have they made any statement that the deal is off or why.
Throughout Friday afternoon rumours did the rounds that Stewart had failed the medical, but there were counter rumours that he had in fact passed and that has lead to a lot of confusion, that will hopefully be cleared up one way or the other in the next hour.

Has he hasn't he? Will he won't he? With any deal for Che Adams seemingly rebuffed it would appear he hasn't and he won't! SR seem to be playing hardball with all potential suitors whilst bringing some good players, even top players, in. Let's see what the next hour brings but, whatever happens, we are going to have a powerful team, arguably the strongest in the league, to go for a top-two spot. All credit to SR (at least for now!!)

Seems that Saints are going to keep Che as they couldnt sign Stewart, in time gone by we would have sold Che before we had a replacement, but not now, we have conducted this transfer window how we wanted to and not caved in

So, unless something changes dramatically in the next thirty odd minutes we have thankfully successfully avoided buying a Sunderland winger with more clubs than Tony Jacklin and a sick note centre forward from the same club. Adams stays ( at least until the next window ) but as IanRC points out yet another window passes without a new striker. Worrying if either Armstrong or Adams become injured but I suppose it’s better to have done nothing rather than the complete Horrocks that Sports Republic’s recruitment team made of the last window, culminating in our relegation?

Listening to Adam Blackmore and Alfie House the news that Ross Stewart has failed a medical is false and this deal is still happening.

the market for strikers is pretty poor, I've not seen any wonder business for them from any team £200m for a 31 year old Salah! 20 yrs ago players at the end of their career would drop down a division, now there is USA, China and now Saudi to make players unnaturally wealthy . I don't think SR bought badly, they player we bought have been sold at a profit (and all this during a cost of living crisis , they must be pretty shrewd eh?)

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process.
