| Forum Thread | All our terrible stats in one place at 16:38 7 Nov 2024
Lost more home games in the last 2 years than any other club. Feels like a lot of us are reaching a tipping point and we have little or no faith in the way the club is being run. Just to prove we're not imagining it, I thought it would be useful to collate all of Rangers' crappy records into one thread. I know we've lost more games at home in the last 2 calendar years than all the other clubs in the league, but I thought there's a few others out there. Record FA Cup 3rd round defeats comes to mind. However the internet isn't so useful for non Premier league searches so I wondered if any of you guys can remember? [Post edited 7 Nov 16:47]

Also, what is the long term direction? Feels like the board pinned all their financial hopes on getting a new stadium and becoming property developers. When that hasn't worked out, they've just allowed the club to drift. |

New managers, new players and none of it seems to ever make much difference. We're still shit and it's only a matter of time before we go down again. Just wondering if any other supporters can see this changing, and if so, how? |

I'm paraphrasing, but something along the lines of "the greatest injustice in play off history". Earth to Don. If a team has a man advantage, and they can't score a goal in 30 minutes, that ain't injustice. It's just them being shit. |

For the duration of the rat's short tenure at Ibrox, I will be cheering on Celtic and hoping they stuff the huns every single time. |

He's already been mentioned, but I'm going for Dominic Iorfa. To this day, I'm still convinced he'd never played football before stepping onto Loftus Road. By the law of averages he must have found himself onside at least once, even if by accident. But no, never ever ever. |

I'm missing the point or the govt is missing the point? Because I agree with you, which is why I was asking why the govt is making it about class. |
| Forum Reply | More room on the train? at 10:25 19 May 2022
Yep, exactly this. Coke use is endemic in every section of British society, but not a single govt spokesperson can say "Coke user" without inserting "middle class" in front of it. It's clearly a deliberate tactic. I suspect its yet another example of this govts never ending culture war, pitting people against each other, cuz that's all they got. |

I'm not knocking Fulham because I've no real grievance or hatred for them, but it seems to me that while their home gate has gone up quite a lot in recent years, they've also become one of the default grounds for tourists who wanna see a game in London. Hence why there may be a much bigger discrepancy between home and away followings. . . or I could be completely wrong. Maybe Konk can give us a Fulham fan's perspective? |

Me + 2. Looking forward to it. Should be a great day and we might even get a result. |

Who the hell hates Wycombe??? I doubt I've wasted more than 3 seconds thinking about them in my entire life. I can't imagine they were ever Rangers local rivals, so what's the story? Anyway, I still hate Chelsea. The hatred isn't as strong as it used to be. I have friends and family who fell to the dark side, so I accept that not all of them are racist bellends. But I still want them to lose, for a lot of reasons. But mainly for Tim Lovejoy. |

It's settled then. We're dismantling the system and remaking it in the most democratic way possible. . . As soon as Rangers get past the Wendies. . . In fact, probably best to wait until tomorrow, as it's a bit grim outside. |

Brian - as you've lived in UK and Ireland, which system do you think is more representational? and which one works best? |

Dredd - taut, pacy, ultra violent and featuring an invented drug, slo-mo, that actually looks kinda cool. Prometheus - loads of Alien fanboys hated it, but I thought the story line was much better than another Alien rehash. Superbad - 'McLovin', nuff said. |

I should probably pay more attention in future Anyway, I think we'll be lucky to get Field. I think he'd prefer to be back at West Brom and they'll need him in the Championship. Charlie will be off to whatever Championship team is willing to risk their finances on him. Again, I think this probably excludes Rangers, which in the long term is a good thing - not that it will hurt any less when he scores against us. |

TBH the only loanee I think we have a chance of landing permanently is Johansen. And only if Fulham survive the drop. Baggies are almost certainly down so they'll want Field back and in the team, and they'll want to sell Charlie for as much as they can get, which almost certainly excludes us. This is our reality these days. Once we have that fine paid off, and we're in our new 35k, state-of-the-art stadium, things will change. Right? |

Then I guess it would have to be separate elections for the HoC and the second chamber - as happens in other countries. Either way it would involve a complete overhaul of the electoral system. Not a small job, but the alternative is keeping with the current system. Forever. |

Sooner or later this country needs to move on. We're not an imperial power any more, we're a medium to big European country (whether people like this reality or not, it is reality). To do this we really need to get rid of a lot of the 'traditions' that are holding us back. The Royal family is one of them. If it was up to me, we'd have proportional representation, an elected second chamber and we'd remove all hereditary titles - not just the royals but the aristocracy as well. I'd update the honours system so it was transparent, so it wasn't given for political favours and had no mention of empire. I'd also amend the law around media ownership, to try and ensure that the press is obliged to tell the truth, whilst allowing them to remain partisan. As for Head of State, I guess we need it. There has to be checks and balances on the Govt. This is where it gets tricky though - we're consistently told the Queen has no actual powers and is completely impartial. If this is the case, how can she possibly be acting as a check? If she really has no power, and we're happy for the Head of State to merely be a ceremonial position, then this person could just be appointed. Of course, it would have to be a robust process to ensure that it doesn't just become a political appointment, but it could work. If we want the Head of State to have actual power, then it should be an elected position. Either way, I sincerely hope that something happens in my lifetime (I won't be holding my breath) as living in this country sometimes feels like being suffocated by history. |
