So many positives - yet a meltdown on here - dose of reality please
at 08:52 18 Sep 2024

I thought against a strong powerful team like Palace we held our own. Some positives. Varane looked good. Needs to be quicker on the ball at times but essentially in the second half he was our one defensive midfield player as Marsden pushed up a bit more and he covered the ground and got the tackles in

Ashby looks promising and with his ability to get up the pitch and that bit of pace will add another dynamic to our play. I think Santos also looks better playing in his natural position rather than right wing ( although this was done to help him get use to the league)

Field did well at the back and is another option but we do miss JCS distribution from he back.

Saito looked good on the wing. Strong little sod for his size and caused them problems. This is a premier league defence so bodes well for the rest of the season

Marsden is an interesting one. I think he is quietly effective rather than dominating games. Keeps possession well, and always seems to make the right choice. I think the way he carries himself looks like he is just coasting but that is sort of his style of play. I think when all the pieces fall into place he will become even more effective

Celar is an interesting one. I think he needs a goal just for his confidence. He is a totally different striker to Frey, who is all action. I think Celar is more of a player for in and around the box rather than linking up play (although he can do that). Maybe still not quite playing to his strengths yet but time will tell

Same Alfie Lloyd some people said needed a potential loan after a ropey appearance

That first sentence says it all and the rest of the paragraph can be ignored. You made you conclusions after the first game. I you a fan from a other team just trolling for people to take the bait or just don't talk any sense at all. I've noticed you make a comment or start a thread with something outlandish and then go quiet until the next time

Even his attitude seems bad today. Jogging out to close crosses down. His attempt at a sliding tackle was interesting earlier

Yep. Colback just stood there as Sheff Weds came away with the ball. Then when the ball went dead just looked at Frey again. Colback looks like his legs are gone and it seems like his attitude is off too. Andersen is what we needed last season but Dembele as the 10 is far more dynamic. Think Andersen should be starting on the bench at the moment or he starts on the right with licence to roam but Dembele starts 10

Colback is a liability at the moment. Not passing well and when someone makes a mistake just stands there looking at them. Frey did a poor pass to him and just looked at him instead of fighting for it. Feels like Marti has a few round pegs in square holes to get players in the side. Colback off, Marsden in the middle, Anderson off and Dembele as 10 with Saito and Smyth on either wing

Harry Kane
at 12:28 11 Sep 2024

Kane is a great goal scorer when he has the service. The problem is he doesn't have the pace needed at international football, to create and score a chance through his own work. If a team is set up to be defensive like Southgate was, when you come up against the good teams he tended to struggle.
So many pointless friendlies these days against lower quality teams have I think maybe bloated his scoring record a bit and the fact that Southgate played him in everyone of them as he knew without Kane we might lose the game. Southgate relied on a player having a quality moment rather than the team creating, and who would you want on the end of a quality moment, Kane

I actually feel with what Carsley has done so far, we might see an even better Kane. He has pace around him and with Alexander Arnold, someone who can get the ball to him. His second goal being an example of that. Also it is fine for him to drop into midfield with this new approach as others took up his position. Gordon would go upfront for example. I think there is a lot more football intelligence already on show in this 'new' England team and in the long run that will help Kane more. I actually think over the years there have been better England strikers, in terms of their all round play, Les Ferdinand being one of them but for sheer finishing ability he is right up there.

Car tax

No normally as part of final purchase you tax whilst there. Don't tax ahead in case something does wrong because then a car is taxed in someone else's name if you don't end up buying

Car tax
at 14:31 8 Sep 2024

Hi all.

Wondering if anyone can help. Just got a new car. On the forecourt now. Can't tax it as DVLA down for maintenance. Even phone line down. Is there any sort of president where you can still drive back without the tax as its out of our control? I know best thing would be not to crash the car but it is the other half's car so can't promise lol. So if anything did happen or you got stopped for whatever reason, you wouldn't get in trouble as we can show date of purchase and their system being down and therefore not our fault?

I think Paal was coming into midfield like he did when Marti first took over. He came into midfield and we had 3 at the back when on the ball. That slight tactical change in the second half allowed us to get a hold in midfield. That helped Madsen and Varane when he came on. (good to see Varane celebrating with the fans at the end). We needed that extra man in the middle as sadly Colback seems well off it. Holding the ball too long at times and getting muscled off it and then gets angry and commits a foul

Looks more settled. Almost like he feels like the man now. Link up play was very good. Managed to sprint away from defenders. I'm now seeing more of the play that I saw on highlight reels of him when we were linked to him

Celar just needs a goal. In the box his movement and touch will get him goals. I think most natural striker we have in terms of movement. Just needs a goals to settle down. Probably feeling the pressure and snatching at them.

Saito wanted too much time on the ball today but him and Dembele on either side of chair and rotating could be fun

I use a service called VWatch live. It's IPTV. Can find it through Google so more legit than some. Can work through smart TV, laptop, phone, or a fire stick. £64 for the year and gets me pretty much every channel going including the iFollow service which is what the club uses for the match feeds

Saito and Dembele Join - Loan

So apparently Saito is a left winger and Dembele a right winger or 10. Dembele looking at how the announcement was written will go perm at the end of the season. So I am thinking a replacement for Wilock and Smyth on the wing.

Saito is interesting. I always thought if you are loaning a player and the expense involved then they are going straight into the team because it's a waste to have them sitting on the bench when one of your own players could do that.

So with that line of thinking. Is Chair's injury worse than they are saying, on his way out or is Danish Jesus the odd one out and will drop to the bench?

Or sod all that and no one is guaranteed a place and competition now in the attacking end of the team?
