Millwall can "afford" to buy Crama due to their sale of 19-yr old Romain Esse to Crystal Palace for a rumoured fee of about £14.5m. Esse's goal contribution with Millwall was 8 goals in 66 senior appearances. Hmm, 19 yrs old, and played 66 1st-team games. Compare that with Swans development program. Both LW & RM, as well as other former Swans managers refuse(d) to give young Swans the opportunities, or at best, very limited 1st team opportunities. With today's performance, do you think that's going to change? Don't count on it. How many of Swans 17-21 yr old players show great promise in U-21 & U-18 teams, only to see atrocious results like there have been in the past few weeks with hardly any call ups? I would like to see more of Swans younger players given 1st team opportunities. You just never know who may rise up so a £14.5m sale is in the offing.

If it were my team, and as owner/CEO, I would personally poll the players and get their opinions/thoughts on LW as a manager, his team preparation & setup, strategy & tactics, playing style, etc. C'mon Andy! You & Swans can do better than that! Way much better!

Due to AV recent pursuit & near-term signing of Levante defender 21-yr old Andres Garcia, AV defender 19-yr old Kosta Nedeljkovic may be looking to go out on loan for further development, someone Swans may want to explore acquiring short term. Would free up Key to move centrally?

I agree. I wish he had been given more 1st team opportunities at the beginning of this season. I really don't understand LW & RM reluctance to play more of the younger Swans. Last Sunday's game would've been a great time to have played some of them.

Obama and Trump at Carter's funeral

I forgot to add that Carter died with a smile on his face knowing that he's no longer considered the worst U.S. President in modern era with Biden now taking that crown. History will not be kind to Uncle Joe!

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, ordered full mast status only for Jan 20 - Inauguration Day. The mandatory 30-day half mast directive will resume on Jan 21 to honor Carter.

As for your draft dodger comment, just know that Joe Biden, (VP) Dick Cheney, Donald Trump, & Bill Clinton all received draft deferments. All were age-eligible for the Viet Nam War draft but used education as their deferments from the draft. Donald Trump also had a medical (bone spur) deferment in addition to his education deferment.

Yes. Went on injured list on 18 Dec. I think he's been on the injured list most of this season.

I doubt if the player would be Fulton, Pedersen, or Yates due to their wages probably not fitting Wycombe's wage structure. Tjoe-a-on would be a good one for the makeweight.

Maybe Swans are trying to sell a player or two to free up some cash? Or, off-load a player or two to free up payroll cash?

Bum horse! The way he has played out this saga has affected not only his stature as manager with his players, his staff & all Swans fans, but his club's recruitment of players. This has set Swansea back quite a bit, imo!

What value Cullen ?
at 20:35 27 Dec 2024

For me, Cullen has made significant progress with his field positioning and his vision of where he needs to be on the field at the right moment. Beautiful goal yesterday but that was a sweet assist from Ronald! And how about that pass from Eom to Cullen that resulted in a shot on goal with Franco scoring on a rebound for his 1st goal. Football like that will get the crowd on their feet! Key's assist wasn't bad either!

You're asking for creativity from LW and his players, something that is sorely lacking at the moment and for much of this season.

A good friend sent me the following "Farmer's Prayer" today. I thought I would share since it might be appropriate for the Swans AFC senior team:

Farmer's Prayer
(By: Author Unknown)

A pastor asked an older farmer, decked out in bib overalls, to say grace for the morning breakfast.

"Lord, I hate buttermilk", the farmer began. The visiting pastor opened one eye to glance at the farmer and wonder where this was going.

The farmer loudly proclaimed, "Lord, I hate lard." Now the pastor was growing concerned. Without missing a beat, the farmer continued, "And Lord, you know I don't much care for raw white flour".

The pastor once again opened an eye to glance around the room and saw that he wasn't the only one to feel uncomfortable.

Then the farmer added, "But Lord, when you mix them all together and bake them, I do love warm fresh biscuits!

So, Lord, when things come up that we don't like, when life gets hard, when we don't understand what you're saying to us, help us to just relax and wait until you are done mixing. It will probably be even better than biscuits. Amen."

Merry Christmas!

Thanks, Doc! Precisely my point. Comparing Swans attempted shots vs. opponents is like comparing apples to oranges. If the service isn't good enough quality, then the chance of scoring is reduced tremendously. Yes, sometimes the decisions are wrong on the striker's or attacker's part, when an extra pass is needed. And, the opposite could also be true as when a shot should have been taken instead of an improperly placed or timed pass. Swans need to provide better service to their main goal scorers.

Please define "proper" striker. Both Vipo & Cullen have shown in the past that they can score. We need better & consistent creativity in providing through-balls & crosses into the box for "proper" strikers to score, imo.

I disagree. We're playing one half of the pitch well, the defensive half. We're bottom of the table in goals scored with 11 goals so far. A reknown national team coach & player told me once that average strikers score about 1 in 10 shots on goal. That's an average striker. My point is (In My Opinion) it's obvious that not enough decent service is being provided to our supposed average goal scorers.

The lack of goals scored comes down to: 1) a lack of decent crosses from wingers/wingbacks & thru-balls centrally (Key provided some yesterday, and Tymon occasionally provides a few; Ronald should provide more than he does; and, whoever is playing the ACM, needs to provide more & better thru-balls); 2) lack of competent finishers (we've all discussed finding additional recruits, but why not try some of our younger players, e.g., Wilson, Nzingo, or a different #9, say Ronald up top?).

Here's an idea: Play Ronald in the #9 position, and Govea out wide in his spot. Enough of this insanity of playing the same players and expecting a different outcome!

Does Luke Williams trust his academy options ?

Yes, Parker had an injury & then got sick, but he should be over his illness. Govea, Nzingo, and Wilson played today vs. Cardiff's U-21. Lost 0-1.

Does Luke Williams trust his academy options ?
at 14:55 28 Oct 2024

I stated the following outside of the Foum: "Williams is sending a message to the Swans Academy that he has more confidence in other club's training and personnel than Swansea's Academy Program's. That is so sad! If the current owners really want to cut costs, then just get rid of the Academy, its coaches, players, and other support persons, and just look to the market for players."

I should have added to my last sentence by saying, ...because very seldom are academy players given senior team opportunities, so why have the program? Why put money into a program if the senior team manager keeps ignoring the potential talent he has on hand?

Luke, just give the youngsters 1st team opportunities. Parker, Nzingo, Govea, Wilson, Lloyd, Lissah. Try playing Abdulai more centrally because he's not a wingback.
