Eze Chair combo exciting QPR ahead of Luton visit — Preview
at 08:22:58

Excellent preview - thanks. It's obviously difficult to evaluate a player from watching him only on video and not actually seeing the whole pitch but I said last season that Eze had a lot of potential and was great to watch. However, he still had a lot to learn and improving to do (he was never a "lazy" player). He has obviously put in a lot of work with the coaches and those improvements are now very clear. He's even improved his heading! I think there is even more to come. Chair is a fabulous little player - still some areas to improve but that will come. Really hope he will sign a new 3 year deal although with agents etc. these days I would be a little surprised but fingers crossed.

Hugill's double seals second away win in Sheffield - Report
at 07:52:32

Thanks - top report. The Forestieri booking was for kicking the ball at Hall after the whistle had gone and Hall was lying on the ground. Of course had he been correctly booked for the ludicrous dive for their penalty it should have been a second yellow and off.

Excellent report - many thanks. And quite right about the referee - fairly blatant homer. The linesmen weren't far behind him either.

QPR looking to turn the tide on Swans - Preview
at 08:13:29

Good preview, interesting discussion on players being "exhausted" by having to play every game. Personally I don't agree, in my view this should not be a factor if they are training correctly and looking after themselves, resting properly etc. between games. They had a two week break recently yet were still rubbish after that. I do agree that the Millwall game proves little - the players finally put in the minimum you should expect, ie some effort, which has been missing far too much recently. I suspect even if they manage to repeat that it won't be enough against Swansea and we'll do well to get a draw.

The rat is back — Report
at 09:33:27

Excellent report, many thanks. And you're absolutely right - Scowen totally changed the game when he came on by actually getting a foot in to win the ball and stopping opposing players running with the ball virtually unchallenged in midfield. Teams must love playing against us, the amount of space we give them, how far we stand off them, how rarely we actually put in a tackle makes it such an easy time for them. Scowen changed that, as you say it's a simple game but you simply must compete for the ball when you don't have it. Defensively we were shambolic, failing to mark even the obvious goal threats but the midfield has to stop simply allowing players to run at the defence with no pressure on the ball. That stopped once Scowen came on, which shows how simple it all really is and if the fans see players actually putting in the effort they will always get behind the team.

Vintage QPR performance lands them in Hull hell - Report
at 20:18:51

Thanks for the report Clive - and you are spot on. At this level other sides will fairly quickly work out where you are weak and attempt to exploit those weaknesses and that is what is happening now. It's up to McLaren to come up with something to counter that. But starting so poorly and lethargically didn't help, the players need to be on it right from the start every game. As for the ref I said on the match thread I didn't like the look of him pretty early on - one of his indiscretions you didn't mention was when Leistner was kicked in the face on the edge of their box in the first half. Absolutely blatant foul, yellow card at least, and he waves play on! Ludicrous.

Thanks for the report Clive. Have to agree on the free kick for Bolton's goal, never a foul in a million years, their player was just looking for a home team decision and he got it.

QPR take FFP medicine, so when will things get better? Column
at 06:24:09

So if you are a billionaire that wants to support your Club, get involved with it and pump in your own money to improve its fortunes, entirely at your own risk, you can't.
FFP looks like it is just a protectionist racket to keep big clubs big and small clubs in their place.

The greater evil — Column

Just one more example of how football is run so badly and purely for money - the rich get richer with no consideration for the rest. It really is time for the management of the football industry to be taken away from those that run it now, and run by an independent body appointed by the government.

This must be the place — Preview

Agree that Ollie has achieved what he was asked to do, and probably more, and therefore should be given the opportunity to carry on if he wants to do so. Yes, some of his decisions are questionable, as somebody else stated above he repeated the Wheeler mistake with Eze up front on his own as well, but I think you'll find most fans at most Clubs don't agree with a lot of their managers decisions either! I wouldn't mind McLaren coming in to the Club, he is a very good coach, but only as an addition to Ollie and not in place of him. We need to continue with the stability (of sorts at least) that has been achieved for the foreseeable future and changing the manager - with all the associated other upheavals that would bring - would be counter productive to that. Finally, many thanks to Clive et al for all your work throughout the season, you provide an essential service for us ex-pat Rs fans, even though we do now have the chance to watch most of the games live via the official site (when it is working) supporting the Club from afar would not be the same without you guys, so thanks again and have a good summer break.

Kids shine as Onuoha and Mackie bid farewell - Report
at 09:08:57

Excellent report as ever Clive, many thanks for them all throughout the season. I also thought the referee was excellent, there was a point during the first half when Birmingham were starting to instigate a refereeing committee but he immediately put a stop to that. Pity we can't have him every week! We played extremely well when we had possession and were a joy to watch, it's starting to look positive for next season despite the loss of some experienced players, mainly Ned. Hopefully we can find suitable replacements.

QPR fightback floors Fulham - Report
at 12:58:50

Excellent report, thanks. As I said on the forum, Fulham are good if you allow them to play the way they want, passing the ball about through midfield. However, they cannot play any other way. Once we closed them down further up the pitch and forced them to play the ball longer to their front men, they could not hold onto it and we dominated the second half. To be fair to Ollie, he had identified that but the players did not execute the game plan in the first half. Had they done so, we may well have won the game as comfortably as we did at Villa. Plus of course, we did miss Scowen and it may have been his absence which explained the way we played first half.
