Wealdstone winger Todd Miller has left the club after both parties agreed to the mutual termination of his contract. The 22-year-old made six appearances at the club having joined at the start of the current season. I said this on the Official Col U Messageboard back in Aug 2023: "Not quite "The One That Got Away", and I'm sure we missed out on a load of appearance fee bonuses and potential sell-on clauses. Hope the lad finds his feet in the National League and forges a career for himself! Looked a bit lost leading the line for Donny last season I thought." Not sure what is next the for lad unfortunately? Maybe a stint at Braintree will help! |

Gateshead 1-3 Braintree Town Braintree eased any lingering National League relegation fears by denting Gateshead's promotion chances with a comeback win at the International Stadium. The visitors started in determined fashion well with Chay Cooper forcing keeper Tiernan Brooks into an early save and John Akinde heading just wide. Kyrell Lisbie might have had Braintree level before half-time, only to steer brother Kyreece's cross wide, but the pair combined 12 minutes after the restart to set up Cooper to level. The visitors went ahead through Akinde's penalty and increased their lead three minutes later when Kyreece Lisbie fired home from Cooper's cross to extend the Heed's losing run to four games. Former 'U' Luke Hannant started and played the full 90' for Gateshead. (Still a hero for that goal at Portman Rd!) R. Clampin -played full 90' M. Marshall-Miranda 55', Yellow Card at 55 minute and then subbed off at 86'. A. Judge came on as an 82' sub. [Post edited 19 Mar 19:53]

Huddersfield Town 5-1 Crawley Town Huddersfield caretaker boss Jon Worthington made a dream start as his side reclaimed sixth place in League One with an emphatic win over Crawley. The Terriers had not scored in their previous six home games going back to December under previous boss Michael Duff, but netted four times inside the opening 30 minutes against the relegation strugglers. Joe Taylor tapped home a third-minute opener on his return to the starting line-up from injury, converting a simple chance on the rebound after Callum Marshall had a close-range effort saved. |

FULL-TIME Bromley 2-2 Walsall These two sides slug-out their second 2-2 draw of the season. Bromley will feel they have let a couple of points slip away, given their twice led through Ben Thompson's stunner early-on and then Harry McKirdy's gorgeous lob 10 minutes after the break. However Walsall showed the character they will need to remain in this promotion race and Levi Amantchi's strike just before the break and Jamille Matt's 12th of the season 20 minutes from time earned them a point they'll feel was the least they deserved. |

What a match! GOAL: Bromley 2-2 Walsall Jamille Matt (70 mins) - another player The U's were linked to at one point! On his 400th career appearance. Now this is the kind of move which took Walsall top in the first place. The ball is threaded out to the right for the marauding Connor Barrett who whips in a glorious near-post cross which evergreen Jamille Matt meets with a perfectly-timed run to touch past Grant Smith for his 12th goal of the season. Game ON! |

GOAL: Bromley 2-1 Walsall Harry McKirdy (55 mins) - once linked to us under Garner! What a lob from the substitute. Michael Cheek pounces on a loose ball in the Walsall half and lofts a ball into the path of Harry McKirdy who lobs a glorious 20-yard effort over Sam Hornby and into the far corner to score his first Bromley goal. They'd scored twice from outside the box all season before kick-off... they have doubled that in 55 minutes. |

GOAL: Bromley 1-1 Walsall Levi Amantchi (45+1 mins) Against his former club! A Walsall long throw is hooked to the back post by Oisin McEntee where sub Levi Amantchi takes a superb touch and spins his man before firing low past Grant Smith. He loves that one, cupping his ear to the Bromley boo boys. What a time for Walsall to score! |

That's former U's keeper - Sam Hornby who comes in for just his second league appearance of the season, the last coming against MK Dons in September, with Tommy Simkin dropping to the bench. |

GOAL: Bromley 1-0 Walsall Ben Thompson (7 mins) What a hit! Bromley clear a Saddlers set-piece and break down the left with Cameron Congreve working some space and then threading a ball back to the edge of the box where Ben Thompson takes a touch before lashing into the top left corner giving Sam Hornby no chance. Bromley have their tails up, while the Walsall wobble continues. |

Leyton Orient 1-2 Northampton Town Northampton eased away from the relegation zone as goals by Tyler Roberts and Cameron McGeehan fashioned a deserved away win at Leyton Orient. Former U's man T. Fosu came on as 74' sub for The Cobblers. |

1 in 3 goal scorer in this division, according to McGreal when he signed for us! Not sure how many he ended up scoring for The u's but it must have been pretty close to 0 |

Braintree Town 1-0 Eastleigh Eastleigh's play-off hopes were dented after a 1-0 defeat at lowly Braintree. Marley Marshall-Miranda's third-minute goal condemned the visitors to a first loss in five matches. John Akinde's effort was blocked but the ball fell to Marshall-Miranda, whose first-time shot crashed in off the crossbar. Braintree finished the match with 10 men after Ryan Clampin was shown a second yellow card eight minutes from time. R. Clampin started but then sent off at 82' M. Marshall-Miranda played full 90' and scored :D C. Cooper came on as sub after 79' J. Akinde played full 90' A. Judge unused sub. R. Brindley played 62' for Eastleigh before being subbed off. |
