One extra player to run around and smash into people could make a reasonable difference against a team like Portsmouth. We don't necessarily need it every game but we have to accept that sometimes it's necessary. |

Horses for courses. We knew exactly what Portsmouth were going to do to us and rather than put another strong running, tackling CM in the team we stuck with the three little guys behind Frey. It's a bit of a blind spot for Marti. He really wants to win the 'right way' but that's no good if you're just going to get bullied. Games against the Millwalls and Portsmouths of this league, especially away from home should be approached with caution and the best possible side to go toe the toe with them physically. With a run of difficult games coming up, we could do a lot worse than revert to the 3 running and tackling CMs that helped to get us out of the mess we created for ourselves in the first place. |

Thankfully we only have to play them twice a season. Not stop big punts forward turning us around. Really awful to watch. Thought it could get ugly at 2-0 so I'm not too disappointed. That's likely our play off hopes over. Hopefully we can relax and enjoy the rest of the season. |

Absolutely. Not suggesting he deserves sympathy or credit just an interesting point from the tour. I guess for a youth teamer like Alfie Lloyd, giving their shirt away is a bigger deal as they're on much less money. |

Yes, I imagine it's quite an intense couple of hours for the players but they were all very nice to all three of my kids. Kolli seems to have his head screwed on for such a young man and even Ashby who must know he's not really rated by most fans was very cheerful. [Post edited 20 Feb 10:32]

I'd be very surprised if that was the home dressing room in the premier league days. It was grim. No heating, poorly decorated, two urinals just on the wall in the dressing room.
Interesting that players get invoiced for every shirt they give away. Apparently, Begovic gave away the most as all oppo goalies wanted his shirt due to his career in top leagues around Europe. |

Took my kids on a stadium tour today. I can thoroughly recommend it. The guide was fantastic and it was great to see behind the scenes. Amit's private box was very impressive. Love the fact that the away dressing room isn't much better than the facilities you get at Sunday league whereas the home one is very comfortable.
Player signing at Westfield afterwards was good fun. Long wait but the players were all very friendly. My daughter made all the players bracelets with their initials on. Frey couldn't believe she'd made it for him. A great day all round and more high quality QPR brainwashing for the kids. They're in it for life! |

I appreciate he is most likely being told to try and deliver the ball to the near post by Marti and the coaching team but he has generally proved incapable of this. His good set pieces have generally come from non corners.
Like I said, I'd be fine with him extending his contract. He frustrates quite regularly and teams do seem to target us down his side more than Dunne's so they must think he's the weaker of the two full backs. Yesterday he did well and I liked how he kept popping up in midfield and giving an option. He's clearly an intelligent player and his fitness record is very good. |

I thought he was good last night. I'm not his biggest fan but I think I'm now at the point where I'd be pleased enough if he signed a new deal. There's no guarantee we'd find a better left back on a tight budget. He has his ups and downs and his corners most weeks are beyond frustrating but he's good enough for a mid table championship team and his fitness record, like Jimmy Dunne, is very impressive. |

My view from the game was that we were a bit fortunate to be 2-0 up at half time. Derby were poor and only really had chances through mistakes of our own. Second half we got the goals and from there Derby just gave up. It was a bit odd as it was all so easy. Show how poor a lot of the teams are in this division. Reminded me a bit of the Oxford game. |

I'd agree with this. Also gave a free kick our way when cook and the same player are grappling and cook pulled the blokes shirt clean off. Against Blackburn everyone was screaming for a penalty when Dunne had his shirt nearly ripped off him. I guess what I'm trying to say is you get lucky with some decisions and unlucky with others. Same for every club in the country. |
