A New Stadium
at 19:20 6 Mar 2017

The stadium is covered. I can only assume the pic was prior to completion.

Beckham is not an investor. He is mired in a long slog to acquire land in Miami that a stadium can be built on with city approval. (His group is on their 4th proposed site) Orlando is owned by a Brazilian Billionaire.

Not sure why they didn't choose the larger of the two proposed options for stadium design that were kicked around. The team averaged 32k a game last year and has sold out every single ticket to their home fixtures this season. Considering this example as well as Atlanta United's 30k season ticket holders and it sure seems like we Americans may have an growing appetite for this game of footy.

A win! An away win! Four goals! Brilliant result with scorers across the squad. A win on Tuesday at LR to keep the momentum will do wonders for the club all around.

Well done lads!

I think I'll go hoist a pint or six.

This merry-go-round of managers is crap. Cleared the books of all but Caulker and the bad kneed Brazilian and TF sacks JFH. Yes, the football is poor. I attended the 06 drubbing by the barcodes - welcome back to LR after 20yrs overseas. No, the football is not entertaining. However, I think the majority of supporters said in preseason that they would be happy finishing mid-table with more youth and stability at the club. Sod that consolidation talk, promotion or 2 managers a season until TF gets bored with us.

Can't we get our house sorted!?! nevrmind...

If JFH goes does Tottenham Les go too?
at 18:34 18 Sep 2016

The sky is falling - who to blame?

Go for the lot!!! Drop LF, LH & JFH...

No worries about who replaces them:

aside from the allegiance oath they will have to take...

and their CV...

and their willingness to work for lower wages than other more financially sound clubs pay...

will also need to have a few, say 6 or 7 top quality players willing to sign on for lower wages on offer at half the Championship clubs.

Think about where this club is, where it was for most of the last 20yrs...then, have several pints and resolve that QPR have a long way to go towards becoming a solid playing side. No malice in calling them what they are, a refurbished side. Stripped to the basics to get out the rot and mold.

This thread is fantasy... the kind that results in a revolving door for the club. Try not to make this club more of a Malaysian telenovella.

The clock is ticking for JFH
at 02:24 23 Aug 2016

Wow, for a second there I thought this post was from TonyF and merely re-posted from Twitter...seemed to have as much thought baked into it.

We need another striker to start. I have seen, on QPRplayer, a vast improvement in quality and desire (with a Preston exception) on a championship budget team sheet. JFH will solidify this squad with time and young signings, patience and alcohol needed, of course.

If not, Hang em High and go back to square one again, and again. Also, ramp up the meds dosage perhaps...

How a brief experience at Loftus Road created a lifelong fan...

I had the good fortune of securing a work exchange permit while at college in the summer of 1993. I found myself working in the city for 9 months and as a young football player myself, seeking advice from my work mates as to which team/stadium to see in the top flight. The consensus among the office was that QPR were playing excellent football with Les leading the line and were excellent value for money (I was a very poor student).

I attended 2 games in that season, taking in a win vs Sheffield and a draw vs Norwich. I was such a naive soul as to ask where I could purchase a pint at that first Sheffield match. Well, the atmosphere hooked me and I never looked back.

I moved to the Tampa Bay area a few years later and found a devouted following of Tampa Bay Rowdies fans who idolized Rodney Marsh and it all seemed to dovetail nicely.

Unfortunately in those pre-internet days, EPL, let alone lower division, scores were hard to come by and satellite TV was your only hope for top flight european footy over here. 20+yrs on and we Yanks are awash in International footy these days.

Perhaps it is that I am a stubborn fool but as those around me celebrated their adopted big teams I was more than happy to support the R's despite the strange looks. Nothing better to puzzle an Englishman abroad than to find a Yank footy fan who knows all the top teams and players and supports QPR.

I have read and enjoyed qprdot.org but find this forum a better source of info and dry gallows humor to help after those SKY games of the last few years. I thank those on here for their insight and many tales of the club's past. I am humbled by the number of posters on here that have loved and given their support to the club over 40+yrs.

Two wins and top of the table mean nothing in such a long season but I think JFH and management are on the right track. COYR
