They were injured. Do you REALLY think Cifuentes would rest his only senior striker? Credit the guy with some intelligence. |

The Steve Cook and Ronnie Edwards end of season situation is very different. Surprised you can’t work out which of them is more likely to be here next season. Be honest: if QPR want to keep Cook they have a chance of re-signing him. If QPR want to keep Edwards they have no chance with Southampton playing in the Championship. Thanks for your insight on Morrison: like you say you don’t know. |

Hobgoblin is on tap at the hut in the Loft concourse. Weak as hell, annoying that they replaced Shipyard with it. |

Where is this weird theory that Morrison is not being played because he was injured ages ago come from? If he’s not fit then he wouldn’t be on the bench would he? He’s not playing because Edwards is in the team ahead of him. He’s already proved he’s good enough to play left CB on numerous occasions this season. And I can distinguish between players we own and loan players: very different situations. |

This thread is about loan players, not those out of contract who may or may not re-sign for next season. I’d start Morrison instead of Edwards and Smyth instead of Yang and put both loan players on the bench. We are also 200/1 to get relegated: it’s not going to happen: |

They paid over £3m for him as a League One player last summer: not a chance they will sell him IMO, and even if they did he’s now a decent rated Championship player so his value will be higher. |

My post was not against loan players generally: whilst we had an injury crisis in central defence Edwards made sense, as did Ashby as he can cover both full back positions. It’s playing loan players instead of our own when we are not going up or down. For those still worried about relegation the bookies are currently offering 200/1 against this happening. |

Langley Grammar School alumni: woe betide you if your blazer wasn’t exactly the right shade of green. |

If we are all about short term success then perhaps we should get 6 or 7 Premoer League loan players in the squad and fill half the team with them every week? Thought the general consensus was that we need to develop our own players so we generate a few Eze type sales now and then? Thats not going to happen if we’re developing young players for Tottenham and Southampton on a regular basis. |

I’d play Morrison and put Edwards on the bench. Cook and Morrison had a very good partnership before their injuries. |

Do you know which of the out of contract players won’t be here next season yet? I don’t as the club have not announced it. I do know Edwards won’t be here next season as Southampton are all but relegated and he will surely be a regular for them in the Championship next season. |
 | Forum Reply | Time to play our own at 22:25 2 Mar 2025
You’ve totally missed the point which is clear in my OP. Not saying Edwards hasn’t got the ability but he should not be playing now Morrison is fit and we have little to play for. We agree that Smyth should be starting. |

Is anyone suggesting we stop playing all the players whose current contracts finish this summer? I would expect a few of them will re-sign anyhow, and we have no reasonable alternatives to play instead of Dunne, Paal and Frey. The loan players are a different matter though, especially Edwards who is keeping Morrison out. |

Don’t be so melodramatic. And Southampton will be at our level next season so we hardly need to be tugging our forelock in their direction and preparing one of their likely Championship first team players for them do we. |
 | Forum Reply | Sheffield United Reflection at 13:51 2 Mar 2025
Totally agreed: he’s the last player you want on the ball when you’re chasing a game as he’s so averse to look for a forward pass when a defender is free for a simple backwards pass. Hopefully this can be coached out of him as he does other things well. |

Whoever threw the bottle will probably get a stadium ban and deservedly so. It was that person who wasted time, not the referee. |

We’re 13 points clear with a far better goal difference: far more chance of getting in the playoffs than getting relegated. Based on today’s performances Smyth should be starting ahead of Min-hyeok anyhow. |
 | Forum Thread | Time to play our own at 23:00 1 Mar 2025
After the last couple of results we are clearly destined for the lowest of mid tables so what is the point of playing Edwards and Min-hyeok as they will never sign for us. Drop them and get Morrison and Smyth back in the starting line up as they are ours. I’m assuming Saito will be signed so he should be starting. |

Even first half, just separated by the goal we handed them. |
