| Forum Reply | Forest now all ticket.... at 07:09 22 Feb 2020
With one eye on the weather, had decided not to book my ticket in case I managed to persuade my 7 year old to come to her first game. Never occured to me it would end up being all ticket! From what I can make out, we haven't actually sold out our allocation, but presumably because the rest of the ground is sold out they've done this to stop Forest fans ending up in the away end?!? or have I got the wrong end of the stick (or witch's broom)... |

For me there's two aspects to hiring and firing managers. The first is just simply an effort to get the best manager in charge of your team that you can. In that sense, sacking Hart to replace him with Warnock was a very good move, and replacing Warnock with Hughes was (especially with hindsight a very bad one). Other than that, over the last 10 years we've generally replaced mediocre/poorish managers with mediocre/poorish managers with mediocre/poorish results. And in this sense sacking McLaren and handing the keys to Eustace looks...not smart. The second aspect to the appointments business is having something that could be described as an 'approach'. This approach at times might need to take precedent over the first aspect (e.g. you don't appoint Allerdyce, even if he's available, if he doesnt fit your approach). And this is where we've really hashed it as a club. Anyone like to try and summarise our approach to hiring managers? Hmm. The board need to take their responsibility for this vacuum. But I have to say, large sections of the fanbase have created their own culture when it comes to deciding when to sack a manager. It's with complete disregard for whether we've got someone better lined up and is all about whether someone 'deserves' the sack, whether things are 'unacceptable' and a cry for 'something to be done'. Maybe just maybe, we need to take a bit of responsibility for 19 managerial changes in 10 years with limited success... |

Call me old fashioned/naive, but I feel like I have the perfect alternative to VAR that would also solve the problem of diving: people (fans, players, managers, commentators), acting like grown ups and remembering how to play the game of football properly. I would suggest a whole raft of new initiatives like: acting like grown ups; getting some perspective; having some self respect; not blaming everyone else for your own mistakes; ; setting an example to children; believing that sport is about fun and not money; getting on with the f'ing game. obviously this would all be ridiculous though because...actually can someone explain to me why this wouldn't work...? |

Reckon "get in there Frank" might be my all time favourite piece of sports commentary... |

Double whammy for me on Saturday: it was also 23 matches since the last time I'd seen us win. felt like a Xmas miracle. makes you wonder whether actually the failure and misery is a necessary part of the whole experience? and to think I came to rangers in '92 when lineker went to Japan, and I was drawn to the 'glory' of qpr. stupid genius... |

Long shot but here goes... I'm trying to make a display for my new house with all of the tickets from all of the different grounds I've been to but I'm missing a few. Is anyone out there unlucky enough to have been at any of these and have a ticket lying around they could part with? Hull, 13th Jan 2007 Barnsley, 30th Jan 2007 Leicester, 15th September 2007 Burton, 27th August 2014. If anyone can help me out with these or point me in the right direction would be hugely appreciated... |

Ok, not that it's a competition but... Realised the other day that I haven't seen us win a match live for 22 straight games. Can anyone beat that...? |
