Noticeable at the training ground there are photos down a corridor of all the wins last season. Taken in the dressing room, all the players and staff are there. At the front and centre on every one was Armstrong, irrespective if he'd even played. We understood his young enthusiasm and arrogance and lots of the current squad have joined around him. How he will do with a club where a culture and team dynamics are set, along with a manager who doesn't suffer fools gladly and he might have a bit of learning and growing up to do. |

I like it and it makes perfect sense. I never realised the need to have kits which differentiate between light and dark until I had eye problems. It makes a massive difference and where there might be clashes - Waaaaal, Cardiff, etc, I t will make a big difference. We are wearing it tomorrow v Spurs where everyone can call it out again if they don't like it. |

Exactly this. JnrJnr is 24 and the last 7/8 years watching England have been the most successful he's ever known. I'm 55 and the last 7/8 years watching England have been the most successful I'VE ever known. |

I'd love to know another way but can't identify a way which won't cause a meltdown in the economy or damage pension funds. How could it be done? |

Is this a buy back or seizure? If it's a buyback, how are you going to pay for it? There is no money so it'll need to be funded through loans which will spook the markets. If it's a seizure, you're taking 8.5% of UK pension funds out of the pension economy - how are you going to replace this in capital and revenue terms? And 8.5% is JUST water. It does happen though and the age is getting older. This is the data from this year's election: What's interesting is the population is growing more left wing as it ages and we may have to go through several cycles to bring the age back down to the 30s or 40s. |

It's only sideways to him if he's not earning more money. |

As I've said before, the culture of an organisation is defined by the worst behaviour it is willing to accept. From a completely external view it's possible to see what's changed and suggest where Nourry has changed things. Firstly, I'd guess he's carried out/is carrying out a root and branch review of what's not been working at the club. That means standards will have been re-written and reiterated, stating what isn't acceptable. With MC he's got a manager on the playing side who works to those standards and has the integrity to follow them through; the sense that eyes, mouth and feet all point in the dame direction. With GA, it always felt he wasn't quite attuned in the same way. The culture is maintained by the people and is the glue which holds the processes, systems and ways of working together. If the culture is poor, that's because people in the org and behaving in a way which maintains it. Again, Nourry has seen that and has to 'change the people or change the people'. Some will have accepted the shift in direction - e.g. Sinton and signed up to this way of working. We're seeing that benefit in some people's attitude and performance but also in things like a well designed pre-season, published well in advance an an improvement on the previous year. Some people won't be able to adapt to this new way of working or have chosen to use this as the opportunity to leave. It takes a long time to shift an org culture and it happens slowly and then all at once. You'll see little happening and then it's all completely different. We're noticing it now because, after a few weeks of us not registering much in the close season, there's a wave of news stories. Credit to Nourry for how he's managed the comms on this too; I'd suggest there's loads more going to happen and we're seeing it dripped out daily over the next 4 weeks or so up to the start of the season. |

A few I've read recently: The Art of Explanation: How to Communicate with Clarity and Confidence by Ros Atkins the BBC journalist. Really interesting to see how he takes all the source data to frame the narrative. Making Decisions by Ed Smith. About his time as an England selector and how they used data alongside qualitative review to choose the team. When the Dust Settles by Lucy Easthope. Fascinating insight into how disaster planning works. |

Local councillors are required to live in the borough they represent, although it's not necessary for GE candidates. |
