| News Comment | QPR finally safe after hollow Forest victory - Report at 13:14:28
More than any other match report of yours I've ever read it perfectly summed up the frustration and almost anger I feel about QPR at the moment. We're just not good enough, In defence, in attack, in coaching and tactics. My feelings about next season also, sadly, mirror yours. I'd be amazed if Holloway is still manager at the end of the season unless he tones down the tinkering and tactics. Whittingham - 10. |
| News Comment | QPR upwardly mobile after joyful Barnsley show - Report at 19:46:25
Thoroughly entertaining stuff. I completely agree about the substitutions though, the two Barnsley central defenders had been pretty dominant in the air and I thought Smith should come on as a better aerial presence in both boxes than Sylla to ensure we protected our lead. Morrison coming on was also odd but, we're all but safe in the league now and In Olly We Trust. However I don't agree about your MOTM selection. I thought Freeman was great but Luongo had more of an influence on the game and how we played. It was by far the best I've seen him play. He drove us on, instigated some good short passing moves rather than playing a lazy lobbed (😳) ball over the top, tackled well and more than once effortlessly (with the ball) drifted past an opposition player. He was fantastic. |

The only time I've kissed and hugged a total stranger was away at Palace in 2010 after Heidi scored a very late winner two minutes after Palace had equalised. Bedlam ensued. |

Dear NorthernR, I, like pretty much everyone on this site, enjoy reading your articles. They are well written, amusing, well informed etc etc BUT can I give you a small bit of advice. Please do not make any further mention of the fact that you were overlooked for a job in the press office at QPR again. This is the second or third time I've seen you write about this and, if I'm being honest, you're not doing yourself any favours. Accept the fact you didn't get the job, act with dignity and move on. Other than that thanks for all your hard work over the last miserable year. Lets hope that the latter half of 2013 is gonna get alot better. |
| News Comment | Defensive horror show sees QPR crash at West Brom — full match report at 09:49:49
It seems to me that the Reading loss did for our confidence completely. There is a complete lack of pace in our game which makes it difficult for us to get behind teams before they've had the chance to reorganise. Every pass between team mates is laboured and almost painful to watch. That is why the selection of Taarabt, at the moment, is a must. He has the skill to unlock a defence when the rest of the team are playing lke statues. Other teams must be rubbing their hands together at the thought of playing us; we are a very, very easy team to play against. |
| News Comment | Barton’s round in the Last Chance Saloon at 00:49:07
Barton's career was really hanging by a thread as a result of this incident and his humble response on twitter to his punishment, to me, indicated that maybe the penny had dropped with him. IF he had been sacked and found himself clubless then who would've been prepared to take on such an underperforming, expensive liability? The only option he would have had would've been a newly promoted team willing, as we did last year, to take a risk. Other than that it would have meant Championship football and a vastly reduced wage. A player like Barton, with his overinflated opinion of his own ability, would have not felt at home in such a lowly environment and I can just imagine him becoming unhapp(ier)y and disruptive and his career begining a real downward spiral. Maybe he has realised that he is lucky to be being paid the amount he is and still be in the Premiership. |
| News Comment | QPR latest to curse Old Trafford refereeing after inevitable defeat — full match report at 10:36:01
I thought Taiwo's contribution was slightly overlooked. As you say the team stuck to their task manfully but Taiwo was up against Valencia who has has provided more goal assists than any other player in the PL. I think he got passed Taiwo once who stuck to him like glue and constanly cut out his crosses. He negated Valencia's influence on the game which I think was a big contributing factor to the scoreline staying as low as it did. He was my my MOM |

I can't remember looking forward to one of your match reports more than this. Very entertaining as usual. One small gripe-I am also very surprised at Derry's low mark. The first 15 minutes aside I don't think as a team we were as bad as has been made out. Unfortunately I can't get the feeling out of my head that Hughes is going to drop Derry on Saturday as he may think that Derry can't play two games in short succession. Barton may well get a look in against Sunderland for that reason alone. I do hope not. |
| News Comment | QPR aggrieved by Norwich’s lesson in dark arts — full match report at 10:25:42
Unfortunately cheating has become part of the modern game. Obviously footballers do not have the ability or inclination to stamp this aspect of the game out themselves by feeling a deep sense of shame at what they are doing so it is therefor the responsibility of firstly, referees and secondly, the FA. Players should be 'cited' ala Rugby, for serious and clear cut offences missed during the game. Diving = 1 match ban, diving in penalty area = 2 match ban, diving in penalty area and getting a player sent off = 3 match ban, feigning injury to get a player sent off = 3 match ban, and my own personal pet hate - waving an imaginary red card at the ref to get a player sent off = 2 match ban. Hopefully the message might then get through to footballers; stop cheating, you bring shame on the game, shame on your team and shame on yourself. |

As I said before don't give up! I really do appreciate the effort. Of course I regularly read you praising opposition teams and, in this instance, you were positively glowing about Marlon King (which I wasn't expecting). I'm not saying that you shouldn't say that Coventry were awful it's just how you do it. I'm sure Coventry fans would love to see skillfull players playing flowing football and they probably are quite hacked off with what they see. The point I'm making though is that it's just some of the words you chose were quite...... emotive, and not in a good way. |

Northern, Like everyone else on this site, I enjoy reading your articles and the site in general. I appreciate the effort you put in to write the articles and the time it takes to keep the site going. I was genuinely concerned when you were recently considering throwing in the towel and giving it all up as this is by far the best QPR website on the internet. However, as I was reading your report of the Coventry game I was surprised at some of your choices of wording which were a bit on the strong side. Express your opinion of course; that's why we all enjoy your articles, but I couldn't help but think that you had crossed the line somewhat. I can't remember a match report that you have posted that has elicited such a response from opposition fans and, to be honest, I'm not entirely surprised. I really do mean it when I say 'Keep on doing what you're doing'. Meanwhile I'll sit and wait for the inevitable cries of 'why don't you pi$$ off to WATRB, traitor'. I will, if that's alright with you, continue to loiter around LFW. |
