Part of my hatred of Chelsea relates to Russian oligarch money, racist behaviour and combat 18 connections, and various tory politicians. I find it difficult to keep politics out of football. This is, of course, only my personal perspective. |

Having only recently started listening to the band Jungle, it is very pleasant to discover that the band is from Shepherd's Bush, and that Tom McFarland is QPR. Anyone seen them live? They are supposed to be good. |

I thought he played well all things considered. Furlong's injury was a blow, but Kakay did not look out of place yesterday. Perhaps, he can build on his performance and grow as a player in the same way as Furlong has done. Well done, Kakay! |
| Forum Reply | Wheeler to Portsmouth??? at 12:57 8 Aug 2018
A tad unfair criticism of Wheeler as he was often played outside his natural position and then dropped from the team. The move will do him good, I hope. Perhaps he’ll come back with a bit of match fitness like others before him and the prosper. On the political aspect: in a world where footballers these days tend to get more stupid by living their own bubble wrapped lives with their ridiculous wages (ok, might not be the case for the current players at QPR), I like that Wheeler has thoughts on society we live in and the way politics affects ordinary people. |
| Forum Reply | Luongo at 12:33 16 Jul 2018
Read stories about Villa considering him were they to to up. Now that is all academic, thankfully. I like Luongo a lot and consider him to be an central part of our midfield. However, as it has been stated already, every QPR player is available if the price is high. Should Luongo leave, it would definitely be a massive loss, but hopefully Manning is able to step up, and new funds will be available for SM to add to the defence. |
| Forum Reply | Southgate you're the one... at 00:24 8 Jul 2018
Besides his tactical abilities, I am equally impressed with Southgate’s understanding of football and its broader complexities. I can strongly recommend the New Statesman’s podcast series Political Football. In the latest episode, Southgate’s thoughts on the England team building a new understanding of a modern English identity of diversity, youth, and hard work are discussed. |

So well deserved.. Such mental quality having dominated the 90 minutes, then not getting anyting in extra time, then missing first in the shootout, and still winning. First ever World cup shootout win. [Post edited 3 Jul 2018 22:45]

Fair point re a more possession based style of play, Clive. However, the pace and trickery of Smyth combined with Sylla’s ability to sniff out a goal seems like a good partnership. I genuinely feel that the change in manager could improve Sylla this season through a bit of coaching and a run in the team. |

Really don’t rate him so hopefully just lazy journalism.. As stated earlier, he is seemingly not much better than Smith. I would rather see the money saved and a Sylla/Smyth partnership with Smith coming off the bench. |

I like the sound of this. This could turn out to be an astute move by us. A back four of Furlong, Hall, Leistner, and Bidwell would do well. Well done Rs |
