Forget the scoreline 17:17 - Sep 28 with 6792 views | ColDale | Bit of fine tuning needed, but what a performance. We were on absolute fire at times today, and it was incredible that we only scored three goals. Every goal (including their's) was top class, and it says it all that Henderson didn't stand out. No idea which goal of ours was the best. Bring on pompey
Forget the scoreline on 10:50 - Sep 29 with 1812 views | dale1996 | Every single player was top class in the first half and hour and a Wycombe fan commented on how it was the best half hour of football he'd ever seen at this level. Our problems defensively only ever seem to come from our fullbacks however. Rose offers enough going forward to be excused the occasional error, but Bennett simply isn't good enough at right back. his positioning and decision making are at times awful and often leads to opposition attacks. Other than that, our centre backs were good as usual, Lillis was solid especially at the end when we were under pressure, Dicker looked a class act today, very strong and composed on the ball, hardly lost if all game. Lund had a quite game compared to usual but was still good, did quite a bad tackle though. Done looked very sharp and quick, deserved his MOTM, constantly trying to take men on. back to his usual self? Bunney looked a very good player for the future and as has been constantly said, he just needs a bit more strength, don't think he won a header all do v Doherty. His runs and positioning was class though, as was his finish. Hogan was his usual self with yet another quality finish. He's now joint top scorer in the league? Henderson was good and solid as usual. Cummins did well when he came on as did Vincenti, he offered an outlet, good sub by Hilly. Cavanagh at right back could be a good shout.
Forget the scoreline on 12:03 - Sep 29 with 1725 views | YouTubeDale | Although Cav is quite good in the air I couldn't see him clearing our area with headers as good as Bennett. If Done would have put that chance away at the Sandy that would have been another cracking, well worked, goal yesterday. Only a point blank save kept him out. In the first half, we laid the ball back to O'connell (or was it Lancashire) who hit it with such venom and accuracy from range towards their goal. It was blocked but I would love to have seen the true accuracy. My God, it was like watching Brazil... Hoping to go to Portsmouth. There's no reason why we can't carry on where we left off. Confidence must be sky high. No fear football. Oh, and Hilly must be getting their fans going by stating in his interview that he has no sympathy with their plight. Let battle commence...

Forget the scoreline on 12:33 - Sep 29 with 1663 views | BartRowou | Dicker was excellent but he was involved in the faffing around for their first goal and their second eventually came from a move which began with him back-heeling it to one of theirs just outside our box. But I'm sure this will be pointed out to him and he's s great role model for the likes of Lund, Camps and Allen.

| When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf? |

Forget the scoreline on 13:13 - Sep 29 with 1593 views | robbowood | Even though we gave the ball away for their first goal let's give credit to their bloke who scored with a fantastic shot - I was right behind it in the Sandy and no way any goalie could have stopped it going in. Nine times out of ten we wouldn't have been punished for giving the ball away in that area of the pitch After what we have had to "suffer" under the previous manager, where skillful, attacking football being played on the floor was virtually non-existent, let's have more games like this (win or lose) The skill we saw yesterday, in the first half especially, was as good as anything I witnessed when we got promoted Full credit to Wycombe for their part in a fantastic game (all five goals were superb) A long way to go but if we play like this every week there are going to have to be seven really good teams to stop us getting in the play-offs

Still not sure about Vincenti he has a lot to do to convince me. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Forget the scoreline on 17:54 - Sep 29 with 1334 views | ColDale | Was thinking last night just how much of a difference that Hill has made in such a short space of time. Maybe its from rubbernecking at Kev's lot and seeing all the excuses about how these things take time. It was only a few months ago that we all felt somewhat numb about the Dale side as the Coleman era brought a huge gulf between the supporters and the team and we just couldn't connect with that way of playing. Hill has given us a side to be proud of again, and maybe its because its early in the season, but it has the feeling of that first season of his when he took over at Xmas. I've had no real interest in looking at league tables but just enjoying the football for what it is. We're playing well, it's hugely entertaining to watch and it's all being done in the right way.

As usual, they are 12 months behind us. Knill will be back there in January, and KB will be bleating that he's been sacked because he's not Alan Knill!

The thing that Hill has brought back to the club is the ability to change formation and style during a game. Coleman was obsessed with his Christmas tree formation even when it wasn't working. The style of football and the range of passing on show has been a joy to watch.
