favourite "forgotten" dale players 14:31 - Dec 6 with 7059 views | TomRAFC | which players have you always had a soft spot for that seem to have been forgotten over time? even though he was only here for a very short time i think alan mcloughlin was a class act. alan johnson is a name that seems to have disappeared from alot of people's all time dale XI but remains firmly rooted in mine. also during his first spell i think alan goodall was the best left back i have ever seen at the club.

Graeme Atkinson is a great shout. Was a big fan of his and still think to this day that I've never seen a better crosser of the ball in all the time I've watched Dale. Not the quickest but he'd chip in with goals and his crossing was fabulous. I still have his framed shirt actually. Big shame that injury halted his Dale career.

Atkinson was a bit of an unsung hero of the team, I dont think he was fully appreciated until he unfortunetly retired.

favourite on 19:26 - Dec 6 with 1503 views | BigDaveMyCock | Jason Dawson. He was rubbish but he captured the time. Circa 1989-1990 and he had a decent pair of curtains (for those under the age of 30 - it was a very indie hair style that everyone had until Hugh Grant became famous then it was bolt the good ship curtains quickstyle). I have "Lazza's" shirt from 00/01 season - away one and it does have arms!!!! Spoke to him in Nemesis at end of season do and not sure how much it is common knowledge but he was offered a contract with Dale - not sure if 1 or 2 years - think J.H. was manager at the time - he was naturally happy and had heard just before that night. Dale being Dale then got rid of J.H. and retracted the contract offer - and I think G.A. ended up going to Forest Green or simular - Pi55ed me off a bit at the time as good 100% player and "word is my bond" did not seem to apply - but then not really a shock is it!!!

I was thinking Carl Harris, and from the same era Mark Gavin. One thing in common - they were both wingers! Wouldn't get into todays team playing that positon.
favourite "forgotten" dale players on 20:35 - Dec 6 with 1420 views | True_Blue2 | Dean Walling - we played him up front and he was useless. He moved on from Dale and became quite an accomplished centre half.

He was rapid! Really looked the part, responsible for the first goal of the Hillcroft era, too. A couple more from me; Isidro Diaz, Mark Stuart and Robbie Painter [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Andy Milner - he'd have been really dangerous if he could have kept his feet.

Ian McMahon - another one finished prematurely by injury. Steve Milligan. Young left back played a few games at end of season, then injured in motorbike crash on holiday. Looked very useful in his brief career. I know he was an archetypal Barrow signing, but I always thought Andy Farrell was pretty competent when compared with some of the surrounding dross. And for being decent, pleasant blokes to talk to, Peter Farrell and Gerry Keenan bring back memories.
favourite "forgotten" dale players on 21:19 - Dec 6 with 1281 views | Clivert | Steve Banks, keeper who we had on loan during the Hollins playoff season. He produced the best save that I've ever seen in open play at Spotland (Tommy Lee wins that overall award!) in our 1-0 win over Luton that season. Graham Atkinson's goal at Rotherham will leave fond memories to all who were there that day. A mention for Dean Martin and his goal that got us to Anfield also.
